O2

After such bad service from the other o2 store in Princess St three weeks ago. Guys thanks for all you help today, all info given on the purchase of my new phone and contract was extremely clear. They have the patience of a saint! Thanks again

This is I think the third or fourth O2 shop to open on Princes Street. I wrote reviews recently of the others. And until yesterday, didn’t think too fondly of O2 generally. The fact that there are probably now 10 phone stores between O2, EE, and Carphone Warehouse on Princes Street is no particular shops fault. But it doesn’t endear me to them.
However, this O2 store has really won me back to O2, so bravo to the lovely staff and particular guy there who helped me. I went into the Apple Store to look at the iPhone 6. My old faithful iPhone 5 had really packed it in (the button had fallen off, and I’d gotten avocado in it). I wasn’t happy with my O2 contract either. So at first, I thought of buying a phone outright and then getting a pay-​as-​you-​go sim.
I left Apple saying I’d think about it. But right next door, there’s O2. So I go in to see what my options are. Turns out if you’re on O2 Switch (I think its called) you can change your phone and end a contract, without having to pay out the rest of the contract. Great! And it turns out 20GB of data is more than enough, so unlimited data isn’t a factor. And I didn’t have to pay much up front at all for the phone. Basically, I learned a lot about my package, my options, and got really great customer service, which I hadn’t experienced in any other O2 Store, from any other O2 rep. It was the sales rep that really won me over, but also the fact that he explained it all to me, was also shocked at my old package (1GB date, and paying close to £50 a month on average). He took his time, didn’t do any hard selling, but was more than happy to help.
They’re now also doing a ‘text back’ service where you book into the queue, and they’ll text you when your space in the queue is free. Topshop is conveniently very close by for such waiting.
The sales rep also told me it’s a new store, that they’re looking to turn into a small flagship, with more focus on customer service. Well, I definitely noticed that change outright, and I was impressed. And now have a new iPhone 6 and am far happier with my data package. Thanks lovely O2 sales rep guy!
