I love this place, nestled as it is among a few other coffee shops and very near a horrible big coffee chain I hate to even mention. The food is mostly tasty Turkish dishes such as couscous, a Meze platter to share and various flat breads with cool salad sides with olives and yoghurt. So far, so healthy. The café is a great place to have coffee and a cake(a lovely selection of carrot cake, coffee cake, pastries and even cheesecake) but also guarantees a good value and good quality lunch. The coffee itself can be a bit hit or miss but consistently better than Starbucks(ugh). The staff are simply wonderful. My friends and I are always greeted by warm smiles and nice chat. They are always very accommodating and understand what to do(i.e. make room for my wheelchair). Service is swift and of the 8 or so times I’ve been there i’ve never had to wait long. Wheelchair access: There is level access into the café no steps. The café itself is quite small but the staff alleviate this problem by moving furniture where need be. I don’t think there’s a disabled toilet.

Myself and a friend popped in here for a quick lunch, we were welcomed by the proprietor with a warm handshake, that doesn’t happen very often in places. The first thing you see whern you walk in is the tempting display of cakes. The café has a warm and friendly atmosphere and very relaxed and intimate setting, the décor was traditional Turkish crafts and rugs adorning the walls. The menu was varied and interesting, with a nice choice of wraps, paninis and flatbreads, ideal for a quick lunch! To finish we had a traditional turkish coffee in the tiny cup sitting within a silver holder, and the coffee itself was served in a little copper pot with a long wooden handle which we poured ourselves. A delightful afternoon albeit too short, with good atmosphere, good food and good coffee, oh and good company. Osman the proprietor is a delightful host.

Went there last thursday with a friend and her 2-yr old son. we had paninis and an ice cream, i also had a mango smoothie ‚ i had spicy chicken panini with mozzarella, it looked delicious, but i was a bit disappointed that the mozzarella was not 100% melting ! and the chicken was not really that spicy! the panini came with slices of cucumber, tomatoes, olives, a bit of spiced up couscous, and a weird(not so fresh and rather old) red sauce. on the side. my chicken had chewy pieces of chicken which shocked me really! but all in all it was ok, we also got strange looks form the man who was erving us(looked like the owner) because of the kid was laughing loudly! He made u feel uncomfortable, like he was saying oh please leave soon! smoothie was ok !

It is a café offering a predominantly traditional Turkish cuisine, sweet dishes and drinks. Café Turquaz is a small but cozy café with comfy couch seating. The hospitable staff reminded me of my visit to Istanbul a few years ago. The service is excellent. We popped in for a cup of coffee with my friend, he had the usual Americano coffee although I recommended him to try the Turkish one diverging into explanations about the secret way of its preparation, although I doubted they had the same equipment to prepare it there. I couldn’t resist the apple tea and baklava, as they are my favourites. The tea was delicious, so was the baklava but I found it a bit dry, perhaps not one of the freshest in the shop. Certainly, I will go back there again.
