This place is absolutely wonderful for a light and quick bite to eat or if you would rather sit and stay a while. The staff is super friendly, the food is wonderful, and deliciously homemade baked goods. Yum! I worked down the street from the café and Wouk stop by there every time for lunch. The food is on the expensive side for soup and sandwich type place but it’s all fantastic quality. Also, your purchases help support the Autism Initiative! Not to mention, you can buy the amazing artwork they have up and support local artists. Be wary it does get a bit busy bill during lunch but there keep a space open just for you ;)

A social enterprise supporting adults on the autistic spectrum, the Café on the Corner is a perfect little hideaway spot, buried in the New Town. Showcasing artwork from the nearby Gallery on the Corner, its simply appointed premises offer an oasis of calm. Their coffee, Artisan Roast Primavera, is first rate, and their breakfast and lunch options, freshly prepared to order, are impressive. This will be a popular spot in August for those seeking an escape from the Festival frenzy of George Street and Charlotte Square, so it’s definitely one to note in your Festival survival diary. Overall, we said: «I thought the fare on offer at the Café on the Corner was first class. It’s one of those places that you want to keep for yourself and not allow others to find out about, but it deserves a wide and appreciative audience. I’d urge you to pay it a visit at your earliest opportunity.»
