Beauty salons are a self-​indulgent habit that, to be honest, have not played a large part in my student life. But when from time to time the urge for some pampering over comes me, it’s nice to have somewhere local and friendly to go.
Babu fits the bill, as Heather the beautician clearly takes pride in her job, and her conversation as always genuine rather than generic, adding a personal touch and acting as a kind of agony aunt who offers excellent relationship advice while industriously applying her treatments. The salon offers a range of beauty and hair treatments, from a painless cut and blow dry to the more adventurous Brazilian wax.
Babu is also great value for money, especially if you’re a student when you get a 10% discount on most things.
