It goes without saying that I’m a huge chicken fan(Nando’s-til-I-die sorta chicken lovin’), so it was really inevitable that I would end up at Yermano’s sooner or later. And sooner it was. Five crazy, crazy girls, jam-packed into one sardine-tin-resembling car made their way to Eastpoint, where /when it was decided Yermano’s was to be the restaurant of choice. The latest addition to the entertainment village, Yermano’s offers a slightly different take on the concept of piri-piri chicken… not a chicken wing in sight I’m afraid(or not afraid may actually be the case) to say. With only one other couple in the restaurant at 7:30 on a Monday evening, we essentially had the entire place to ourselves. Menus were provided(note: steak *is* an option in a Portuguese restaurant…), and dishes were selected. Granted, the choice wasn’t huge, but we each found something to our taste. Furthermore, our chosen dishes were incredibly cheap, costing no more than £7, so we splashed out in five sides too. Oooh, this was gonna be a feast and a half… My chicken goujons were beautiful, and the BBQ sauce… oh, there are no words. The sides consisted of garlic bread, potato scallops, garlic potato scallops, sauteed mushrooms, and fries, with all five of us digging in and helping ourselves. Yum, yum, yum. The only minor blip of the evening(apart from the over-eating aspect of it) was when we attempted to pay separately, but that worked out fine in the end, and off the five of us went, chicken-filled and happy as Larry. Not quite Nando’s, but it was a good call that fine Monday evening…
