It is so weird that there is a Texas themed pizza place in the middle of nowhere Co. Down, Downpatrick. It makes no logical sense, yet here it is. Thriving with pizza’s named after cities in Texas. Lone Star is a nice family place, simple style, good daily deals, and owned by an ex-​pat from Texas. I can’t decide if this place is better or worse than dominoes… but when I eat it, I have to admit… I kind of prefer dominoes. But maybe that’s just me longing for some true all-​American pizza. I recommend checking it out, at the very least for the novelty.

I really like this place as it brings the kind of pizza quality that you would associate with the likes of Dominoes to an area where it has been previously unavailable, and it also does it at a lower cost!
The shop is run just like a Dominos in that it is very fast and efficient in making your pizza. There are a wide range of toppings and good side orders, which I have found to be rare if not an impossibility for the vast majority of pizza outlets out there.
There are excellent offers there like buy one get one frees on Tuesdays, two 16 inch pizzas for £19.50 (which is a lot of eating!) and a 16 inch pizza and garlic bread pizza. They also deliver to a really large radius which is surprising, as they will deliver up too about ten miles out, although the price does rise according to distance!
