Four words of advice .DONTWASTEYOURMONEY. just returned from the Sheffield Fire Museum ghost night … Total crap. the staff obviously learnt their scripts in the 70 s with their horrendous«ooo err Missis, get it up for the girls«lines. They blurted out the same drivel over and over again in each room we went in … the effort put in is in the least amateur, I went along with the expectation of entertainment but no such luck, the tacky props and ridiculous talking teddy left both me and my husband cold … absolutely horrendous.

Went with simply ghost nights last night to Ryecroft Hall last night and it was an amazing night. It was very quiet at first, however this team are the best at keeping your spirits high during the quiet times. When we moved on to our second vigil we had a door open all by itself. This was investigated and we could find no reason whatsoever as to why this happened. I have to say as the night went on it just got better and better. I did feel sorry for one of the groups though because they had a non believer in their group and he was spoiling for them. The food was actually really nice, there was something for everyone and plenty to go around too.(Have to say the cookies were the best I have ever tasted). The team all worked very hard and you could see they all got on really well. Never too busy to come and talk to us in the break as well. Even though there were a lot of guests they made time for each and every one of us who wanted to talk to them. I have already paid my deposit to return on November 1st with my 2 friends and recommend this company to any paranormal fans out there. Well done simply ghost nights.

Myself and my friends went along with Simply Ghost Nights to Kershaw House in Halifax and have to say this event was fantastic. It was our first time with Simply and there was a lot of laughs, but we were all mesmerised by the introduction Chris Conway gave us. The first hour or so into the investigation were a little quiet, but this is to be expected on paranormal investigations as we have been on many before this one. But we did get some activity. Then by midnight we were treat to the most amazing buffet I have ever seen on any ghost hunt in that past. The second half of the event was almost non stop activity. I would reccomend this group to anyone and have already booked another event with them. Just as with ghosts seeing is believing.

My partner and I attended the ghost night at Kershaw House in Halifax on 3rd August 2012. Was not impressed at all, the night consisted of going into 3 rooms and doing Ouija Boards and table tipping. I am not saying the whole of the night was fake but the medium Chris Conway came and joined us(sat next to me) at the table when we were doing the table tipping and I was watching his fingers and I could see him pulling the table up(his finger nails where going white because of the pressure he was putting on the table and as soon as he took his hand off the table all the weight went to my side) he did this numerous times throughout the night. Only members of staff got ‘touched’ by spirits and a woman was planted in our groups as when we had a break one of the staff members shouted mum to her and then put her hand over her mouth and was looking round to see if anyone heard and the leader of the team turned to her and said don’t worry nobody heard you(But yes Rosie we all heard her say that). I am not saying that everything was a hoax but it seemed like not much was happening and the team was trying to make it look like more happenings where going on then there actually was. Would NOT recommend this company in the slightest was a waste on £80.

This night is absolutely terrifyingly heardpoundingly skin crawlingly logic defyingly SHIT. The event lasts for 6 hours and boy does it drag. I am a rational and logical person who does not believe in the afterlife, ghosts or mediums, so obviously I was always going to treat the event with a large degree of scepticism, but I went along for the fun of it anyway as, after all, it was likely to be entertaining. To be 100% fair the first hour wasn’t that bad, with séances and table tipping. The biggest problem for me was that this 1 hour of mild entertainment was repeated for 5 more hours in different rooms in the building, to the point where, 4 hours in, I actually nodded off. It is boring! The event organisers are cashing in on nothing. Telling us that they have had some really strong activity in this room and the table left me bruised when it flew across the room are just some of the mind-numbingly bullshit phrases they spurt out like a broken record for 6 hours. If they are going to do this, then why not go the whole hog and make it fun ghost stories, a background of the history of the place etc. I have been on ghost walks in Edinburgh that were entertaining because they made the effort to entertain. The feeling I got last night was a bunch of amateurs akin to the simple bloke in the pub who tells you they get a strange feeling in their attic. It really is this moronic and shallow. I don’t care that there may or may not be ghosts, and I am not slating them for their beliefs, that is not a problem at all, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I don’t mind them trying to convince others of it. The biggest issue is how non-engaging this night is. If it wasn’t for the fact that there were some vocal people in our group asking questions around the table and making a real effort to squeeze some enjoyment out of it, I think I would have walked out after an hour. At least I would have saved 5 hours of my life. Also, on a side note, but something which again illustrates the amateur feel of this affair, the buffet is a bunch of cold Asda value sausage rolls and some crisps. Oh, and some maxwell house instant coffee to keep their one brain cell awake.
