Chopstick Restaurant

Absolutely one of the worst Chinese restaurants I have ever eaten in. My wife and I had several main dishes and all were equally bad. Ruined an otherwise good evening.

The food was ok but it didn’t feel like anything special. Staff were ok but couldn’t help but feel we’d just had a mediocre experience here.

I have eaten at this restaurant and the Chopsticks in Oxford. The Didcot restaurant has more seating and seems ‘brighter’ than Oxford. Both of them are fantastic value for money and the food is gorgeous.
I’d recommended the chicken wings (with little bits of garlic and chilli on them) and prawn toast starters, the satay chicken appetiser and the sizzling beef main. However, as previously mentioned, the crispy duck appetiser is gorgeous and a must-​have! We got a huge plate of shredded duck, yummy pancakes with fresh cucumber and spring onion. The hoi sin just topped it all off. Careful you don’t eat 10 of these! =) it can easily be done!
The staff didn’t pester us until you get near the bottom of a drink or a near empty plate, and this was a Friday evening too. So I guess we must have gone on a good day looking at some of the other reviews!
I would definitely recommend eating at Chopsticks and eat as much as you can fit in! I ate until my ribs hurt! =)

If you want fast food in a restaurant environment then pop in, if you want an occasion and a relaxing experiance then walk on by.
I had the all you can eat and was shovelled out of the door in under an hour. If you do seem to take a normal amount of time to digest then you are looked at so often to make you uncomfortable.
As with many far eastern restaurants, the starters are faultless and the main courses let the side down.
Relax the service and put that energy into your main courses.

5 stars, really? Did I go to the wrong one then, because it was terrible. Food was reheated, our starters were quite tough to get through. Service was too rushed.
Place looks a bit shabby and plates were all chipped.
But yeah, it’s cheap and friendly. All you can eat.

I must admit that I really like this place. The food is great (if greasy) and really tasty although I doubt it does you health any good! Service can be a bit hit and miss, but the reasonable prices and fantastic food make up for any problems which aren’t a regular thing anyway. Recommend the crispy duck and the all you can eat deal!

The food is divine, I am always upset when we can’t dine here on a visit. If you get the chance to eat here try their shreadded duck it is the best I have tasted.

Only sit down chinese in town so captive audience to a certain degree but food is nice especially starters so i usually pig out on starters on the set eat as much as you like menu and on mains tend not to eat too much rice as this is cheaper food that fills you leaving less room for the tastier stuff, a bit of a tactical eater really am i, or is it greedy pig. One thing i hear from this place as i also experienced is the constant requests for ANY MORE DRINKS which is fair enough to a point but every 10 mins during your meal is a bit much, my guess is they probably have a bigger profit margain on the drinks than the food

WHen I was here with a large group of ladies, they were FANTASTIC. The all-​you-​can-​eat was cooked and brought to our table a bit at a time so it was always fresh and we gorged ourselves on some of the best Chinese I’ve had in a long time.
The staff was great despite our roudiness and as such, got an extra star from me. It is often under pressure that good staff excell and poor staff wilt and these staff really went above and beyond.

This place is another of my favourites.
Cannot fault this place.
They do all you can eat 13.95 thurs to sat (£1 cheaper other days)
They bring all the food to your table, and when you have eaten as much of the course you want, you go on to the next.

The staff are very attentive and polite. And service is always very quick.
They also do take-​out, food and service is fantanstic with that too.
