You know what? I just can’t say it’s A-OK anymore. In fact, I wish there was another craft store nearby so I could give in, start shopping there and save myself all the hassle. With the wedding coming up, Hobby Craft has become my second home as I craft my way into oblivion, making crackers, confetti and wedding favours. And Hobby Craft has been a nightmare every step of the way. I have bought no less than EIGHT heart and star cutters because they seem incapable of cutting through book paper. BOOKPAPER. The thinnest of papers. Their wax seal kits don’t seal properly and the wax is knocked off in the post. Everything is overpriced, badly organised and a stress to find. The staff are either extremely happy and bouncy or full of sarcasm and implying you don’t know how to use their products correctly. And without fail. every SINGLE time I have gone into this store for something, they haven’t got it. EVERYTIME. I long for the day I’m able to go in there with a list of things and leave with what I came for. Today, I went in for cream paper and cool glue for my glue gun. Did they have the glue? You bet they didn’t. It was ‘on the delivery truck outside’ but ‘I can’t go and find it because it’d probably take like a couple of hours’. I’ve had enough of it. They’re supposed to be the home of all things craft but I can’t see why they’re even open. See? This is what happens when you don’t stock your shelves properly. One stressed out bride. ARGH.

I feel this review needs to be summed up in a meme… ‘SON I AMDISSAPOINT’ I really was disappointed, I held high hopes for this place. Craftey stuff in abundance I walked in looking for frames, paint and some nic-nacs. It was HORRIBLE. The staff were nowhere to be seen and when you did track on down to ask them ‘where the hell is **insert crafty goodness here**?’ they were short and seemed bewildered themselves. There’s not a lot I can say about this place other than, It’s jumbled, nothing is where you think is should or would be and the staff are just plain disinterested. AVOIDLIKETHEPLAGUE — buy stuff online, it’ll probably be cheaper too!

I love Hobby Craft! I could spend ages in here just looking around and wishing I had loads of money and time so I could just craft! I always come in here for cute cup cake cases, or some card to make Christmas cards, or to pick up some wool for knitting. This place has everything. It is a little expensive, and you could find it cheaper elsewhere, but you can’t beat the ease of having everything under one roof.

This store is spread over two levels it has a massive arts and crafts section, almost like an arts and crafts mega store. For the creative person, this place has the lot, everything from paint brushes and easels to model making kits and adhesives. It has a large warhammer section, large textile sections, etc. Whatever your hobby you are bound to be able to get what you need here. There is plentiful parking outside. Staff are friendly and its in a good location. Recommended.

This place is great. Located in a small retail park in Crayford it offers a huge selection of basically anything you could want for. With a 3 year old it certainly helps to be able to have somewhere that has what you need as wandering around the shops can be a hassle. I can’t comment on prices in the same way as Craig has but it wouldn’t surprise me if they were a little higher, most chain stores are compared to smalled independents. But if you want to save your legs and time then a big store can really help.

Hobby Craft is a massive arts and crafts supplies store, almost like an arts and crafts mega store. For the creative person, this place has the lot, everything from paint brushes and easels to model making kits and adhesives. Whatever your hobby you are bound to be able to get what you need here. The downside is that a lot of these supplies come at a price. For the bits I have used Hobby Craft for, I have normally found the same things cheaper elsewhere. That said, I believe in this case you are paying for the convenience of having everything under one roof. All it takes is one visit and you should have everything to complete your project. Staff are enthusiastic and helpful and the store itself is easy to navigate despite the size. It is always clean and tidy and makes for a comfortable shopping environment. Parking is very easy too as the shop is on a retail park which can be quite hectic at the weekend but no real problems during the daytime.
