A traditional Olde English Ale house with many ales on tap and good beers. We had been told of a legendary steak and ale pie which we sadly did not receive. The menu is pub grub and I thought pretty average to be honest. Of the three meals we had I thought two were pretty ordinary. The atmosphere however is great and it is well patronised by locals. The toilets are diabolical but no worse than most pubs, and a nice looking beer garden must be good in summer.

Great beer. Good selection of real ales which pleased me. The lady behind the bar let me have a sample of an ale I hadn’t tried before to see if I liked it before buying. It’s quite small inside but luckily when I went it was a nice evening so I could sit outside. I’ll be visiting again soon to sample a few more ales

Hidden down a steep twisty lane at back end of Blackheath. Its a Holdens pub but has a good range of real ales from all over country on tap. A bit of a locals pub now compared to a few years ago before Holdens took over but it still has a welcoming atmosphere. Its very popular. Food is plentiful, good quality and cheap, beer also cheap and well kept. Large beer garden at rear but beware the car park if driving, make sure your hand brake can cope with a 40% slope :)

Aww, this is a cute little pub. It serves lots of real ales, making it a real beer destination in the Black Country. This olde worlde cottage style pub is located on quite a steep hill between Old Hill and Blackheath. It is decorated with the fairly typical pub bric-à-brac and has some old fashioned charm about it. They serve hot food and some cobs and snacks during the day. Lots of people rave about the quality of the ales on tap including Batham’s, Enville and Holden’s. Yet The Waterfall can get very busy at times and it is tricky to get served and find a seat.
