You know it’s going to be an interesting meal when the waiter who greets you is wearing a parka & scarf. This should have been our cue to leave, but it was so cold outside and we didn’t know how far a walk it was to the next group of restaurants, so we stayed put. Luckily we were seated under an electric heater, so while we had chilly feet for the duration of the meal at least our heads were warm! We asked for a drinks menu and were told that they didn’t serve alcohol but it was BOYB, so I popped down the road to Nisa to get us a couple of Kopparbergs which sadly ended up being the highlight of the meal! They gave us 4 free poppadoms & dip to begin with which was a nice touch, but the food went downhill from there. I was in the mood for fish so I ordered the tikka salmon. It was very very bland and dry — luckily we still had the chutneys on the table form the poppadoms so I could jazz it up a bit. My colleague ordered the chicken biryani which I think was better than my salmon, but no glowing reviews. Maybe I made a bad food choice, but based on atmosphere and service I wouldn’t return.

The food here was just not to my liking. Its cooked with powders and pastes that just arent authentic. Wont be returning.

The Mint was my local I was regular(ish) since it opened I can quite honistly say I have not a bad word to report! Excellent service for takeaways and excellent service for dineing in. You can take your own beverages(a well stocked newsagent next door with beer & wine offers on all the time) but they do have a well stocked bar. The menu has a wide selection of dishes, I’d avoid the duck with coconut lol… I have a varied pallet but that was abit strange!(but edible). VERY welcoming staff, clean, tidy and friendly! I really cannot praise The Mint enough. They a few years back now built a disabled access ramp to the restraunt wich I have to mention as so many places don’t consider wheel chair access even in this day and age. They have an Upper and Lower floor restraunt/dineing area simply yet modern design I belive the upper floor can be booked for functions. I highly recommend The Mint, very good portions in there takeaways I belive student discounts are still on offer and futher 10% off if you collect the order yourself? I allways got 4 free popadoms and the chutneys thrown in as well! a very good feast for the price :) I have a thing about toilets :/I have to mention when doing any review… I rate the facilities as well… I give The Mint 8⁄10 for cleanliness in the Powder Room Dept. Small but functional if you know what I mean! I’d say one of the best places for a Curry in Coventry!

Amazing Indian restaurant! It is very up to date and modern but this is not to distract from food or service because both are impecable. It does stand out from the other eateries around it and it is to its benifit. There is a good menu, well priced and it is good food with good, efficient service. You can have alcoholic beverages there but there is also the option to bring your own. Another option is also takeaway and there does tend to be a discount if you decide to do this. The staff when I went were also lovely.

Fantastic indian restaurant where you can bring your own alcohol and pay no corkage fees. The food is out of this world and very very reasonable in price. The décor is very contemporary and staff are excellent. The restaurant does get extremely busy at weekends so definitely need to book, only problem I have ever had is waiting quite a while for food but when you have your are bringing you own drinks this isn’t so much of a problem. Takeaway is also available and thy do a 15% discount. Highly recommended.
