I was quite surprised to find an independent coffee shop in this small shopping mall. There is a decent amount of seating downstairs, but even more upstairs which is useful during busier times of day. The food and coffee are great, they also stock Tea Pigs tea and some gluten-free cakes & biscuits. Staff are pleasant and friendly, and generally bring drinks and food to your table. I can see why this last bit annoys some people who might need a coffee fix as soon as possible, but I like that it avoids that problem of finishing your coffee before your cake or lunch arrives. I not only recommend it, and am already on the way to filling up my second or third loyalty card.

This independent coffee shop is a welcome addition to the otherwise dismal Cornbow Shopping Centre in Halesowen. It is quite a modern and funky looking place, with wooden floors and a glass frontage. They do proper coffee and some nice sandwiches, cakes and snacks. Their policy is strictly«no rush», with hot drinks being made with care and attention(i.e. they take a while). I like it because the have Teapigs teas, I’m such a sucker when it comes to posh novelty teabags and flavours. Anywhere else, this would probably be a three star coffee joint, but this Halesowen and the prospect of paninis is still quite bold and exciting around these parts. Extra star for grilled sandwich innovation.

This award winning coffee shop caught my eye on a recent trip to Halesowen, and with the rain and cold, a coffee was required. The food looked pretty good in a cheese toastie, no fuss way and they had freshly baked cakey goodness that made me sad I couldn’t eat it. They did however have gluten free biscuits of a posh brand but whilst pleasant the chocolate and pear combo was a bit weird. The coffee shop was clean and minimally decorated but service seemed a bit slow, with you taking a number just for some drinks. They a have a lot of seating with a larger upstairs seating area too, so i’m guessing they get pretty busy. Overall it was just ok, the drinks were hot, the staff were friendly but it’s not amazing. They did however, have a selection of papers to read whilst you waited for those drinks.

Coffee 2 was a pleasant surprise to find nestled away in the Cornbow Centre in Halesowen. In a town comprised of charity shops and chains, finding an independent coffee shop was a treat! I was impressed with their range of home-made cakes, sandwiches and the fact they also stock Teapigs — very posh! That said, the service was fairly slow — considering we went in mid-morning and we were not part of any morning or lunch rush, I was surprised how long it took to get a latte. The latte was tasty — a little on the bitter side, but still worth waiting for, and was hot(so it hadn’t just been sat on the side before being brought over). The inside of the café is fairly spacious, and I was surprised to see that alongside newspapers they also had magazines you could browse whilst enjoying a drink and a cake. I like that they offer a loyalty card scheme where you get a stamp every time you buy a drink — though no staff asked if we wanted to take part — I just happened to spot a stack of blank cards by the till. No matter, I’m not in Halesowen enough to benefit!
