The Tunnel House Inn and Barn

After you drive down a private driveway, through the English woods, you arrive at a beautiful pub hideaway.
Classic, classic, cozy, and authentic.
A stone house set in the woods. Wood fires, wood floors, and choices of wood table dining and leather lounge seating. Small bar area to order your drinks and a few dining room areas for sit down dinners. Pub doggie always present and you are welcome to bring your own dog. Country estate families often visit, in their traditional attire and even Prince Harry is a frequent visitor. Shhhh don’t tell the public.
Great beers on tap. A few wine choices. And generally a «full bar.» Full food menu and some would say they have the best cheesy chips in the area (aka cheesy fries). They also have daily food menu specials.
Friendly and attentive service. A must spot for a return visit.
Note: of all the spots I have been on my English travels, this is BY FAR my favorite pub. Very cool.

Superb venue — beautiful sceneries, stunning british countryside, lovely venue.
Terrible food — I ordered a burger: the meat was overcooked, the bun was dry; my colleague ordered a vegetable lasagne and she found a plastic cellophane wrapper in her plate… disgusting. The food is clearly microwaved, and the chef cannot even be bothered to remove the cellpophane package. Disgusting.
