I am a fan of this premise because it provides a nice comfy sofa for when I need to do my work and I am bored of uni space. There is another floor upstairs with more seating areas and electric sockets and not many people seem to be aware of this. Drinks are alright(can’t be compared to proper tea or grindsmith) but it has the basic essentials and it doesn’t taste that bad. TIP only for you Unilocalers: more space upstairs!

I popped into this new Costa on Oxford Road last week as I was around the area for work and needed somewhere that I could shelter from the cold and wind in between meets. With Costa, you know what you’re going to get and unfortunately this part of town is getting to be proper chain central, especially with the high street coffee chains realising this is prime student territory so can get peeps in with their laptops all day. It was a shame to see Odder go but then I really think that bar had let itself go the past few years — but would have still been better here than another chain coffee joint. Free wifi for 30 mins(all day with a registered free Costa card — get one at the till) and all the usual drinks on offer — there’s loads of seating upstairs!

This branch of Costa opened in December 2014 at the same location which used to be Odder bar. This is the standard Costa coffee stuff, nothing new, nothing exciting. Just good old coffee with the standard reception one gets at these franchises. There is a Nero 2 – 3 shops down and a Starbucks across the road and this Costa kind of, now completes the(un)holy trinity of coffee chains in this 5 minute radius.
