I spent a few days in Chichester last month, and The George came highly recommended by my co-workers. It was right around the corner from my hotel, so I ended up here a few different times during my trip. The food was a cut above normal pub food — I had a duck and quail dish for dinner one night which was quite good — and they had a nice selection of pints available. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. On evenings when I visited alone, I appreciated having WiFi available, but what I really enjoyed was sharing a pint with my co-workers by the fireplace. The George was one of my favorite spots in Chichester — I hope I get a chance to visit again soon!

Went here last weekend but they had a minimum £10 card payment and a cash machine that charged to withdraw. Looked like a friendly cosy place though — will return if I’m in Chichester again.

What a Pub that has everything… Amazing food, fine wines & real ales… with a great sun decking garden and conservatory restaurant with a real gastro pub feel… it even has 10 guest bedrooms in an old converted barn at the rear of the property with very friendly and helpful staff…

This is a great pub in the north of the city centre, ideally located for both the shops and the theatre. It serves a range of real ales so will please those acquainted with the CAMRA guide as well as their lager-drinking friends. The food menu is limited but very good value, and their Sunday roast is superb. The main part of the pub is contemporary but still cosy, with leather sofas and open fires; and there is a lovely conservatory out the back which serves as the restaurant part. In summer, the terrace is a real sun trap and many an hour can be whiled away recovering from all that shopping, or discussing your bargains. There is also accommodation situated in a row of mews houses at the back of the pub which our friends have stayed in and would recommend.
