I’m a massive fan of the original Bill’s in Lewes, but have always felt a little let down by the subsequent branches that have opened up over time. Fair play to «Bill» — he’s expanded well and made a massive success of his business, but I have always felt that each new branch has lost a little of the original authenticity.
Today, however, the Chichester branch massively surprised me. The ambience is really lovely here in this slightly tucked-​away branch, and I couldn’t fault the food or the service. The waitress was really chatty and went over and above with the service, providing a teacup finger bowl with my friend’s ribs. I went for the chicken and chorizo burger with fries which was really tasty.
Overall, a tasty lunch in pleasant surroundings. Well done Chichester for retaining that special something that made us fall in love with the original!
