Went here late night one night. Had various curries. Very delicious and nice service!

I have to say this place is a real disappointment on multiple levels. The food and service were both terrible. We ordered a mix of starters and mains, the curries were badly cooked and the naan breads were among the worst I have ever had. Unfortunately this seems to be a trait of Indian style restaurants around Chester. I would recommend all of the owners to take a trip to Glasgow or Birmingham and get some tips from any Indian style restaurant in the cities. The service was terrible. Items put on the table that weren’t ordered then put onto our bill. Rude waiting staff and trying to hurry us out once we were finishing up. The food and drinks were all overpriced for the standard that was delivered. I would steer clear of this establishment at least until they can learn to cook a curry and a naan.

Set out with a plan to eat at Gate of India however that was full with a 30 min wait. So next door was this one. Small premises simply decorated, usual selection of dishes, had popadoms, shami kebab starter(really nice) followed by chicken tikka Jalfrezi and Chicken Garlic balti and keema rice &naan. All the food was very good, quick polite service, so no complaints Happy to recommend.

I booked the upstairs function room at City Spice for a group of 23 friends, ranging in age from 20 to 60, on a Saturday night. None of us were local nor had previously eaten at the restaurant. We had a fabulous evening. The food was tasty and excellent value for money and there were plenty of staff to look after us ensuring prompt and efficient service despite the restaurant being full downstairs when we left at 10pm. Highly recommended.

City Spice is my favourite Indian restaurant in Chester and is situated on City road what between the train station and the city centre. Even thou in my opinion this is the best Indian I still do my rounds and eat at many of the other Indian restaurants in Chester. The restaurant is quite small but has an upstairs what they use as either an overflow or for parties. The outstanding points of City Spice to me are; 1. The friendliness and efficiency of the staff 2. The genuine aim for your satisfaction from the staff regarding your meal and experience. 3. The cleanliness. I personally enjoy a staff curry and with given notice they always oblige. This is the same with any request for something that is not on the menu as the staff just seems to bend over backwards in their aim to please.

Limited seating, Expensive, Bad service in restaurant part. We have booked a table at city spice Restaurant on several occasions and when we got there, our table wasnt free, we waited one hour for our table one time. Although the staff are very friendly, I just don’t think its acceptable. Also there is a big group of kids who are always in there, they take up so much room — about 3 or 4 tables and they dont even order any food. Apart from that, there is a nice atmosphere. If it was much bigger and better service it would be great.
