Bell’s Newsagents in nearly as old as Carrick itself! Seriously, it’s been here since before time began! It’s a great local shop with greeting cards, toys, stationery, sweets, newspapers etc. I remember calling in here with my mum as a kid and over the years picking up different toys and magazines. Then recently I took my niece in and bought her two great wee ponies for only £2 and she loves them to pieces, bless her! Bell’s is great for back to school stationery and bits and pieces for writing etc.

Bell’s has been a constant in Carrickfergus for as long as I can remember, while so much has changed in the last 20 years, Bell’s has remained the same.
This little newsagent’s sells a wide variety of magazines, arguably the widest variety in Carrickfergus.
I regularly see magazines for sale here that I have not seen anywhere else. They also do a wide range of greetings cards, wrapping paper, stationery (office and school supplies) sweets, soft drinks and tobacco.
They also stock a good range of art supplies, such as crêpe paper, glue, paints, brushes, drawing pads and stickers. Bell’s have always managed to stock a bigger range of goods than even the chain store
newsagents did, making them one of the busiest little shops in the town.

Bells Corner has been the one and only newsagent on Carrick’s High Street for as long as I can remember and, as such, provides a decent local source for a range of stationery and greetings cards. It’s not the shop it used to be, it could do with a face lift outside and a bit of modernisation inside.
I must admit I have got some bargains from time to time, Diaries at half price a such like. But overall the business looks like it is just marking time and really could do with a push into the 21^st century.
But for all that it is convenient for newspapers and a birthday card when needed.
