I am a cheapskate. I know, I know, most people don’t want to admit it, but I am putting my meanness on full display: I love a bargain when I can get one. The Range isn’t like a discount store — it’s more like an upscale IKEA, or a massive mid-range Habitat. In any case, it’s worth stopping by if you’re in need of any home goods. But my review revolves mostly around the arts supply offered at The Range. I was bemoaning the high cost of paint, canvases and brushes to a friend of mine, and she simply shot back with«Why don’t you go to The Range?» And so my love affair began. I can spend a good hour here browsing the wide selection of arts and crafts items, which culminates in me shelling out £100 for more supplies that invariably crowd my tiny apartment(thankfully, there’s not much guilt as I feel money spent on art goodies and books doesn’t count).

When I bought my first flat in Cardiff — I was so glad I discovered The Range. It is an Alladin’s Cave of anything and everything you could ever need to have in your house and more. I’ve bought products ranging from mirrors to paint to sweets all at reasonable prices. Should you be the creative house maker type then you can also buy fabric here for… well I’ve know idea what for but its there by the shed load. But of all the products they stock I was quite drawn to the multitude of prints of famous artists. I bought a few that I thought would show me in a more cutlured light should I ever get any visitors to my flat, who’d appreciate that kind of thing. Even though I have now moved the prints still hang on my walls but unfortuantely nobody has really commented on them. Don’t these people know how cultured I am!

First things first… If you like quality goods at bargain prices this shop is right up your alley. I went here recently and it reminded of an Aladdins cave. I looked one way and saw pretty shiny things I looked the other and my eyes were drawn the sweetie section. You can pick up literally everything in this store. It is like Ikea only better. I spend hours in this shop. Its one of those shops that you go to looking for one thing and before you know it your basket is full of bits and bobs you didnt even know you wanted! Everything is cheap cheap cheap and they have a refuelling station(otherwise known as a café) for you to kick back and relax in. Dont go if your in a rush as this is one of those stores that requires a leisurely stroll!

The Range is aptly titled for what is does. It’s one of those department stores that seem to trade in anything that may otherwise go in the«misc» pile. In this place you’ll find everything from electrical goods, to plant pots, to easels and canvases for art students. It can be a little disconcerting at times, but thankfully, the entire place is laid out in at least a semi logical manner and there are signs up showing you where to go if you need a particular thing. The prices here are fairly cheap; you can come in and end up buying everything for your house that you never even realised you needed until you saw it, and it’ll all cost you less than £30. If you have someone with a DIY-ish bent, The Range is a nice alternative to the B&Qs of this world, instead offering something a little gentler and more homely looking than the Terminator-esque utilitarian layout of most hardware stores.

Do you want perfect craft items such as; Ornaments, decorations, essential equipment, art, paintings, snacks, cards, toys for children and garden furniture? This has a shop that has nearly everything you need for your house and garden and for crafty ideas and for presents for people, all for excellent prices. I love this shop and I continuously go here; there prices are brilliant for most products, perhaps a bit pricey for some others, but I suppose they are right for the individual product. I recommend it to all who like to decorate their house and it has loads to offer for children and parties. Their websites say that: «The Range concept is to offer ‘mid-price’ home, leisure and garden products, drawing together everything that could be needed for the stylish home at affordable prices.» 1980 was the time of life when the Range shop came into the business world and it was Chris Dawson who started such a company by originating it in the markets of the Southwest as an open air market.

I had no idea what The Range was when I went in there, I thought it might be homewear stuff so I was kinda right. It actually sells pretty much everything from garden plants, to electrical equipment, arts and crafts equipment and decorative items. It seems much lighter and brighter than the likes of B&Q and I for one spent a very long time in there so I was glad it also had a coffee shop to refuel! Price wise I was again pretty happy, cheaper again than other DIY type stores with a range of own brand items as well as.

The range is a shop selling garden and household items. It has large range of outdoor furniture and equipment and a large range of household items from decorative things like vases, to kitchen ware, to cleaning products. There is also an excellent arts and craft section where you can find all you need for any art project at a good price.

A large out of town superstore that sells almost everything! About a quarter of the store is dedicated to furntiure, but there area also sections for arts and crafts, gardening supplies, pets, a vast range of diy products including tools, paint, wallpaper, soft furnishings, lighting, kitchenware, and sweets! They stock some major brands(like dulux, brabantia etc.) but they are probably best for their unbranded products that come up cheaper than other homeware or DIY stores — I often buy tools for example that I would only need to use a couple of times for much less than I would spend in one of the major DIY stores.
