Nbm Cambridge

Very risky, avoid if you can! Especially the Cambridge
one. Our awful experience has proven how slow and unreliable they have been. It has been a nightmare and
the stress has caused me to resort to finding a new solicitor when it
should have been completed by now. For what should have taken a few
months at the most has taken 8 months so far and still no completion
date! They don’t do anything unless you call and chase and you will be
placed on hold for ages before you can speak to anyone who can help or
until your file is located! They don’t inform you about anything that’s
going on. They have been an absolute struggle to deal with and made the
experience so bad so I would never recommend them to anyone for the
sake of saving a bit of money. It’s really not worth it.
They have no sense of urgency and as a result of the delays they
caused, we have had to extend our motgage offer date three times! And
still no completion. Of course I shall be making a formal complaint as
they have taken my money for nothing. Close to being illegal.
I would not wish this experience on anyone. As a result of their slackness, we ended up having to pay stamp duty as well which would have been avoided (being first time buyers) however, the law changed in March 2012 which meant we ended up having to pay it! Just another expense which could have been avoided if they had done the work they were meant to do within the time frame they were supposed to.
We had to pull out from using them as we risked losing our mortgage offer which had already been extended no thanks to NBM. Our bank was very understanding as was the vendor solicitors. After they advised us to change solicitors, we did not think twice and went with Smart Law Solicitors in Cambridge. They are absolutely wonderful very quick, reliable, efficient and knowledgable. I would highly recommend them to anyone especially as their costs were not much different to most other firms including NBM.

Awful service. Had no real interest in the sale of my house at all. Lots of unanswered emails and generally lack of communication. I dealt with the Cambridge Office. Have told all my friends and family through facebook not to use them and would suggest you think carefully before dealing with them. Their prices are cheap but it is at a cost to their professionalism.
