Last time I went there was horrible, I was self-conscious about buying a new bra for some uplift and I told the assistant this is what I was looking for. She was very rude and said, If you wear a well fitting bra it should uplift anyway In a very telling-me-off kind of way. Like she was saying ‘yes they all uplift you idiot!’ I was so taken a-back as I was wearing a done up coat and scarf covering me, she hadn’t seen my breasts or measured me or anything so I thought she was rather rude Aren’t you supposed to tell them what you would like from your bra?! She then said I can get you a selection if you want but I don’t know your tastes I just said no it’s ok and walked out! Probably should have got her name and complained.

Bravissimo specialises in lingerie and fashion for busty babes! They provide clothes in sizes that you won’t see anywhere else. So someone who normally takes an ill-fitting size 12 shirt anywhere else might be a 10 really curvy at Bravissimo! Because the clothes come in so many different sizes and variations, once you find your size, it does feel tailor-made. And I guess that’s why you’re paying those sorts of prices — because this store certainly ain’t cheap! However, they have fab sales if you can get there quick enough to find your size(even their sales are super cheap — you pay what you should probably be paying to begin with!). Being a trim but busty lass, I often struggle to find clothes that fit me really well on the high street — and finding good bikinis can be an even bigger challenge. I managed to find the most gorgeous designer bikini(Gotex) on sale at Bravissimo in the summer. The service is much better than in most Cambridge clothes shops although the shop does get ridiculously busy(especially during the sales), so if you need to speak to a member of staff, it can take ages.

Located on a quiet little square just off one of the main shopping streets in central Cambridge, this is a branch of the Bravissimo lingerie chain specialising in underwear, swimwear and clothes for women with larger cupsizes. The premises are arranged over two levels, the display and till on the ground floor and the fitting rooms as well as a waiting area(with magazines for men and women) downstairs(no lift though). It is a beautiful shop with a feminine, bright and friendly atmosphere. The fitting assistants in Bravissimo are incredibly helpful — most of them are customers in the shop themselves, so they understand their clients’ predicament. Also, they are extremely well trained at fitting bras without resorting to a tape measure(doesn’t work for large cupsizes). They are happy to make suggestions, fetch different sizes and check the fit. They go about their business cheerfully and without embarrassment, so you can just relax and enjoy the experience. Getting fitted there has changed my life, no more back ache! The goods for sale are not especially cheap, but the quality is very good and on the whole it is no more expensive than other specialist retailers. The shop does get very busy at the weekend, so if you need a proper fitting and advice I’d advise to visit during the week when the assistants can give you all the help in the world.

But i have to say they do stock a good range of bras and for anyone who isnt a b cup this place is a god send. Although on the pricey side(but i guess we get more material! lol) but good qualty underwear, so you get what you pay for.

Bravissimo Cambridge is fantastic! I really mean that! I have to travel to visit any bravissimo store, and this is my favourite because they are just so incredibly helpful and understanding here that it beggers belief it really does. The first time I visited this store, my husband(who doesn’t like shopping let alone bra shopping) sort of hung around to make sure all was ok, but pretty quickly he realised that I was in good hands and so ran off to find a music shop saying he’d be back in half an hour. The women who work in the shop all seem to be really caring people who want to help you to find a bra(or more than one if you’re feeling rich) that suits you and fits well. I’m disabled so I do need help with this, I get very tired trying lots of bra’s on and they always make sure I’ve got a changing room with enough space for my wheelchair if I’ve got that, or make sure there’s a seat in there if I’m using my stick. The prices here aren’t cheap, but to be honest that’s not bravissimo’s fault I don’t think as if you can find these bra’s anywhere else you generally find they are just as expensive elsewhere, and at least here you get great service too.
