Cracking little pub! Myself and my friends always make a little stop in the Tracking whenever we go out for beers in Bury. The chalkboard with the current beers is super helpful, telling you what you need to know in a clear and easy manner. The variety of ales, ciders and perrys they have in is awesome and ever changing. The setting, a tiny bar with outdoor seating on the train platform is novel and welcoming.

Really busy place at the weekends and during events being held at the railways station, but a brilliant pub for real ales. The kids love to watch the trains when we visit and actually, you cold have a pint in here and then perhaps jump on the steam engine and do a whistle-stop beer tour of the East Lancs line.

Great bar with large real ale selection and some loopy juice, sorry cider on tap. Prices are low. Some seating outside but tends to be very busy at weekends Well worth a trip

The Trackside is an amazing little place with lots of character, a wide selection of beer and great prices. It’s located on the platform of the East Lancashire Railway — a heritage line which has steam trains. The pub is quite small but there is plenty of outside seating. It also sells food(until about 3pm) and its beer selections are mainly local but it also has Erdinger Weissbier on tap as well as some bottles. The beers are all on a chalk board to the left of the bar and feature the ABV and a scale of light to dark so you can easily select one you’d enjoy. I think the steam trains only run on Sundays so that’s the best time to visit. Since we discovered it about two weeks ago we’ve been back at least twice more. The beer selection changes so regularly so we’ll definitely be in again!

Brilliant little bar and café, staff are friendly and the beer is always top notch, and interesting place to drink as it is situated on the platform 2 on the bury Bolton street station, with the different themes the railway put on throughout the year it can be more than just a pint.

The Trackside pub, literally on the Bury Bolton Road platform, is of the old school variety. I’d like to think that for many, many years work-weary men have come here for a few pints of real ale, some food and a rest. Maybe a smoke, before it was banned. And they still do, definitely more of a men’s establishment, I came here as it was the drinking place of a friend’s boyfriend plus convenient and fairly cheap. The pub itself is teeny tiny with two doorways — an entrance from the station car park down the little hill and an exit on to the platform. It was nice enough sitting on the outside platform benches of an afternoon, to be sure. This is greatly improved by the East Lancashire Railway steam train ride which still runs from here. A delightful piece of the past.

I visited the Trackside on Tuesday January 6th2009. Good beer? This is all very well. if only the place hadn’t closed down. No sign that it will re-open anytime soon either!

A little gem in the centre of Bury situated next to the East Lancs Railway. If you’re sick of managed houses and chain pubs selling the same types of beer, then this place is for you. The pub is part of the station platform, with steam and diesel trains passing through at the weekend. The platform is also part of the bar, with a number of tables set out for you to enjoy the nostalgia. A fantastic and ever changing set of guest ales on pump as well as the best selection outside Manchester City Centre(Think fringe bar) of Belgian and Continental beers. They also do a bar menu — but I haven’t tried this yet as too busy sampling the beers! Highly recommended!
