A little over a year ago, The Bickley completely refurbished into what is a really nice gastropub just past Chislehurst station. There’s a good selection of allies, wine and cocktails on offer. The restaurant is quite impressive, both for a Sunday roast and for a date night.
My issues with the Bickley are minimum. First, on Friday and Saturday it turns into a bit of a 30s plus meat market with the singles crowd dressed to impress. Secondly, the baby changing facilities are in the Ladies toilets. This gets awkward when I’m there with my kids and need to change one. It’s annoying especially since they very recently refurbished.
Other than that, this is a good all around place to go.

This is the only gastropub for miles and the food is pretty darn good. Food and venue hire are the two things this place specialises in — they have function rooms galore!!!
They have great outdoor spaces and even an outside bar in the summer. The menu has loads of gastropub classics, most of which work pretty well. I’d say the biggest down-​side is the lack of decent real ales to wash down the smashing grub!!!
