After a shock going into administration in December 2008, about a third of this company’s stores were closed nationwide. They sensibly kept this one going, as it makes a perfect place to buy presents for tea and coffee drinking friends (and frankly, if you don’t drink tea then you are no friend of mine).
To be clear, this sells tea loose and in bags, ground and instant coffee and hot chocolate powders — it is not a café.
It stocks normal tea as well the weird flowery stuff that some people insist on, and a great range of coffees. They also have crockery and gadgets for the ceremony that is preparing a fine cuppa.
Find this upstairs in the mall near Boots.

This Whattard is an open fronted shop in the Mall so plenty of parking at hand. It specialises in a wide variety of teas and coffees but also lovely bright ceramic gifts and accessories. They sell all sorts of gadgets and gizmos for tea making and stock a wide selection of teas and coffees. The coffee always smells diving and the herbal teas are delciousl It is a little pricey but they are a real treat and the items would make a great gift as they are all so beautifully packaged. They have regular offers on in store and the reductions make the items really good value. They also sell some gorgeous lindt chocolate items which are really tasty. A lovely shop.
