It is a long time since I have received some really appalling customer service and been driven to such anger. On Saturday I got 4 keys cut at a cost of £15. Upon returning home I discovered none of the keys worked in the door. Today I managed to make time to return to the store. The store manager insisted that I had given him the wrong keys and that I would have to pay to have replacement keys cut. After a 5 minute debate he conceded that one of his colleagues must have made a mistake. By this stage I was really annoyed and asked for a refund. He kept saying he couldn’t do that that Timpson have a second time key cutting policy if the key didn’t work first time and when I informed him that under Consumer Law I was entitled to a refund if items were defective, he kept repeating the mantra that I would have to get keys cut. When I eventually broke down and told him to cut me the new keys so I could get out of there and that I would need his name to complain he threw the keys aggressively against the shoe counter and said he didn’t want my service anyhow. Then he spent 2 minutes looking for a pen in order to process my refund. He took my receipt off me, telling me he needed it for his records, didn’t give me an amended cancelled receipt and he refused to give me his name. An appalling product, dreadful customer service, never again will I grace your doors Timpsons on East Street. Oh and you owe me a pen!
