A lovely, calm little sandwich and coffee shop, this is a great choice if you want a yummy bite to eat and a quick sit down while shopping in Broadmead. The staff are friendly and very efficient, and there’s seating inside and out on the promenade so you can happily sit and people-watch as you tuck into a nice lunch. I had a brown bread cheese and ham toastie, and it was delicious and only £1.80; that’s my sort of lunch. For the more adventurous, they’ll fill your baguette or sandwich with all manner of ingredients, which are all fresh and very good quality. This used to be a tiny business down on Upper Maudlin Street(I used to live above the old Baguette Shop!) and it is a pleasure to see it has expanded into Broadmead with two shops.

The Baguette Shop, located in the heart of Broadmead, is, to my mind, a great alternative to Subways. I’m always on the look out for such places, as the last Sub I ate saw me emptying the contents of my stomach out onto my shoes. Nice. Needless to say, I haven’t been back since, so finding this place has been a godsend. They even do a meal deal — for an extra £1.30, you can add a bottled drink and a packet of crisps to your baguette. Quick, tasty and none of it has ever made me feel even remotely sick. Bonus.
