The only reason why i normally find myself in Tesco express is because of their hours. It oozes convenience, all the things that you need, at lower prices, but i don’t like giving them my money when it could go to a local grocer. Just like every chain supermarket you are there for one reason and one reason only– to get your food and go there is no experience. And whats more is there is no post office attached to this one– like the one on Black boy hill.

This is my local, friendly(ha!) Tesco Express. I try my best to shop at the local independent shops, but sometimes convenience and price just wins over. I have to be honest, it’s pretty useful having this place so close to my house — mostly so that I can grab the things that I can’t find elsewhere — like quorn mince, for instance. It’s a pretty small Tesco, as they go, so there’s not much of a range, but it’s good for essentials and snacks. The fresh fruit and veg section is abysmal — so don’t even bother if that’s what you’re after. They also don’t have a proper freezer section — just a chest, so you’ll only find a few tubs of Ben and Jerry’s or Hagen Daas, presumably catering for the student market in the neighbouring Unite blocks. There’s also, for some reason I can’t quite fathom, a coffee machine in here — so if you fancy an overpriced and tasteless hot beverage in a cardboard cup, then really I can’t recommend this place highly enough.
