Been going to the Sheesh Magazine for years. We have never had anything but a good meal. Service is very courteous. Highly recommended!

This place was soo much more than i expected. not only is the food lovely and the service excellent, the décor of this place is better than any I have found in Bristol nestled behind dark curtains, from the street view, it doesnt look like much, but once you go inside, it is lush with crystal chandeliers, old fashioned indian lanters and cozy little booths that are perfect for a date night. i was also pleasantly surprised that my house wine(only 2.00 a glass, another plus) came in a beautiful crystal goblet. everything about this place is first class, except the price, which is very reasonable. a definite must do.

I forgot to recommend the Brinjal Bhaji, which is an aubergine dish — my favourite of all the vegetable side dishes they offer here. The cauliflower one(can’t remember the name) is also really good.

A smashing little, well not especially little, Tandoori resteraunt located near the foot of Gloucester road. On a strech of the street included many fast food and junk food outlets it stands almost alone, well, not really alone, it stands among many other indian and chinese places, and there is nothing bar thefunky sign that seperates this place form its peers. This is not to say the food is bad… far from it, it’s pretty damn good! It’s just that the whole place isn’t quite what you expect, it’s a bit dark and a bit crampt for my liking. Good for takeaways.

The Sheesh Mahal isn’t the best Indian you will ever visit, but it won’t be far off. It’s in a very handy location(especially for students) however there isn’t any off road parking which could be a problem. The food here is wonderful. The portions are more than satisfactory and at a reasonable price. Staff are very efficient and treat you like royalty too which is always nice! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

I go here all the time and it’s great. You go in and they sit you down on a little table and you get menus. The quickly get you some drinks and your ordered. When your popadoms are ready you change to a big table but if it’s busy you wait. The service is normally quick but can be a tad slow on busy nights. The food though is delicious, it has the right texture taste and look. And it’s curry some scamy curry places don’t give you curry but this is! I reccomened the chicken bhuna, chapati, sagaloo, plain popudums and pilou rice. Resonible price and after eights to finsh.

There are certain things every community must have: a post office, a laundrette, a corner shop, and of course, a curry house, especially in an area with so many hungry students around. This curry house is, reliable, tasty and exactly what you want when you’re after a curry. The menu, like those of most curry houses is extensive, and they’re often willing to make something you might want that’s not on their. The food is of a good quality and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Expect to get that usual bloated feeling afterwards. For familiarity and a cosy place to munch out, come to Sheesh Mahal.

One of the most authentic Indian restaurants around. The Sheesh Mahal has won plenty awards for it superb cuisine. The food is delicious and the staff are more than friendly. Not the largest potions to be found but cooked to perfection.
