Rosebud Florist

The Rosebud is a pretty addition to this stretch of Gloucester Road. Large plants, including some impressive topiaried Bay trees, as well as buckets of heavily scented blooms, line the pavement. As the name suggests, roses are a speciality. These elegant, fragrant flowers are clearly a selection of the most exclusive varieties, grown with care and an adroit understanding of their cultivation.
The shop itself is quite small, which comes as a bit of a surprise owing to the scale of the display outside. This may have something to do with the owners fascination with budgies… there’s a small aviary housed in the back room, where, if you are lucky, you’ll see the birds flying around through the viewing window. The partition wall could easily be knocked through, giving the shop a third more floor space, but would mean that the birds would need to be permanently caged.
The Rosebud is an Interflora outlet offering same-​day delivery. They are also wedding and funeral specialists. Lisa, the owner, is highly qualified at her craft, (as are the staff), and is always on hand to offer advice.

Although Rosebud Florist is slightly tucked away, the florist is the brightest shop on that particular stretch of road, meaning your eyes will undoubtedly be drawn towards it. It is a quaint and attractive shop with inviting fairy lights in the window. There is a fairyland quality to this place. The front of the shop boasts colourful pots of both exotic and typical flowers. The flowers inside the shop are beautifully-​arranged and the staff welcome you with open arms. If this florist was nearer to my house then I would be a frequent customer. Two thumbs up!

This is a quaint little florist, boasting an array of beautifully wrapped flowers and a selection of potted plants. As is generally the case with florists, it is pleasing on the eye and brightens up this otherwise rather drab section of Gloucester Road a treat.

I’ve never been one to frequent a florist a huge amount. Usually the morning of Valentine’s Day or my girlfriend’s birthday I’ll pull up outside and sprint in. I can’t comment on the cost because in truth on such days money isn’t an issue — although I can’t remember ever having felt ‘the sting’ in my wallet.
What I do know is that my girlfriend has always smiled, my car has always smelt nice and the shop is always colourful and cheerful looking whenever I’ve walked past.
As florists go — I have every confidence this is a very good one.
Next Valentine’s Day I’ll get there early and have a good nose about.
