Power Station

This gym has been relatively newly refurbished, and I think they have done an ok Job.
Trying to get rid of some christmas pounds (still!) and to learn some new skills I come here now and again. The Gym has a Mixed sex Gym, a boxing area which is why I was interested, and also for those of you seeking a washbored stomach they even have an abs room! … sounds a bit weird if you ask me!
The Powerstation Gym also caters for all seemingly as they have a range of beauty treatments in it’s own Beauty Salon located on premises.
After a hard workout you can also have a chill out (not really the right phrasing of words!) in the male or female saunas for a nice little reward.

I’ve only been in here two or three times; I used to circuit train in the hall upstairs and on the odd occasion that it was cancelled without notice, they would let us go in the gym for free as compensation (slightly dubiously without any induction whatsoever!).
It’s a small place housed in a basement, with a couple of running/​cross training/​rowing machines, though the main emphasis was on the weights. My overall impression was one of slight intimidation from the slightly ropey looking clientele, a large proportion of whom looked they might have been somewhat chemically enhanced. In short, it’s nowhere near the league of the more luxurious hotel type establishments, though I’m sure that’s reflected in the prices.
