Sitting up on Westbury Hill, this is the first pub you come to on your way into Westbury-on-Trym, though whether this is too far out to make it part of the ‘Westbury Eight’ pub crawl I’m not sure. Known by locals as the Pot at Wot(Post Office Tavern at Westbury on Trym), it’s a slightly rundown little boozer, despite being in the very near vicinity of some extremely expensive housing. It basically all looks a bit old fashioned, with the sort of décor that wouldn’t look out of place in Del Boy’s flat. I’ve mainly been here on a Sunday afternoon as it’s one of the few pubs around here to have Sky Sports. There’s no big screen, but it’s not a great problem as it doesn’t get too busy and they have a couple of plasmas, including one in a more secluded alcove area. Not the best pub in the area but okay for footie.

I’ve never managed to work out the sort of pub that this is. It serves pretty good beer(Otter etc.) and shows most Sky Sports events primarily based around the rugby matches. It also serves up typical pub grub with 2 for 1 Pizza night on a Monday. The food’s not nouvelle cuisine but cheap and cheerful. For a small town pub, this is perhaps hard to beat as long as you can squeeze in!
