Good food, great atmosphere, awesome venue and nice staff. We really enjoyed our recent visit here and could not fault hence, the 5 stars. Admittedly, I hadn’t been in a long time to the café. They had wiper and true beer, which contributed to the experience as well!

When spring breaks I’m always on the look out for an outside area to work, drink, eat or dance –sometimes all four! Mud Dock Café has a lovely little terrace area that overlooks the harbor and is a perfect spot for a chilled out beer or coffee. As some of the other reviews state, they do have a bit of a staffing problem. I was there this morning and there was one guy behind the bar fighting with the coffee machine with about 4 other people waiting to be served. A girl(I guess waitress) was sat with a calculator and piece of paper doing something-or-other that didn’t look remotely important. The guy asked her to help out and she said«do what?’ — Um, serve some people! DOSOMETHING! It took a while to get served, but once out on the terrace it was quickly forgotten about. I had a cup of tea. Twinnings. Nothing special. Nice mug though! I’ve not eaten here but it looked pretty good. Mud Dock: All about the terrace.

Trendy and a bit over-priced. £5 for an ok bowl of soup and tiny bit of bread. Better value else where. For poseurs and ladies that lunch, perfect!

Great for drinks on terrace overlooking habour ideal in summer. Food is little pricy but fairly good. Lost a star for the unconfortable metal chairs(i know it sounds picky but you just cant chill out in them)

The Mud Dock Café is the perfect weekend hang-out in Bristol. Located above a bike shop, on Saturday and Sunday afternoons you’ll find a mixture of hardcore cyclists stopping off for a cooked breakfast re-fuel, and people chilling out with the papers for a lazy brunch. The décor is all warehouse-y, with bikes hanging from the ceilings, stripped wooden floors and sturdy steel chairs. The menu caters for all tastes, with salads, burgers, breakfasts, a variety of daily specials and a nice little selection for kids. My nicoise salad with chargrilled tuna was spot-on, with the tuna seared to juicy, pink perfection and a generous helping of salad, presented beautifully. I must also give two special mentions to my drinks: my freshly squeezed OJ was the tastiest I’d ever glugged, and the hot chocolate was… HOT! fanfare Apparently they do a £5 lunch deal Monday — Friday, including a drink, and I’m sure if I ever had the opportunity to take advantage of that bargain I most certainly would.

I really liked this place. I wandered past and decided to check out the café, which is situated above a bike shop. The metal stairs are in stark contrast to the interior, which is very warehouse style with lots of wood. There is a large terrace which overlooks the harbour. It is above a parking lot but that was not too much of a disturbance. A great place to chill. The service was professional in a chilled and accomodating way, and when I moved from the terrace to the restaurant for my meal it was no problem at all. I ordered a burger with pancetta and a fried egg, which was served with chips and a salad. I loved the burger, the meat had a nicely charred taste and although it was cooked through it was juicy and tasty. The chips were fab and the salad was good. The bun seemed to be store bought but I did not mind as I usually don’t eat wheat so I left most of it. My only gripe is that they could have been more generous with the chips! If the Mud Dock were in London I would be a regular. But on the other hand it would probably be packed with suits or pretentious trendy folk so at the end of the day I guess that Bristol is the ideal location for the Mud Dock.

Not a good experience. Outside, I couldn’t find a menu, so I climbed the stairs as the outdoor part was appealing on a hot day. I couldn’t find anyone to speak to, and stood at the bar being obviously ignored for a good 5 mins before I asked a girl looking cross behind the bar if they were about to close Yes! came her unapologetic reply. That’ss it, nothing else. I think it was probably the same Polish blonde who shouted at the other reviewer. Are they TOTALLY stupid? I can understand when staff want to go home, but a little polite let down may have got me back the following day! Rude, careless, unwelcoming, all the things you DON’T want in a restaurant!

We have been to Mud Dock plenty of times before, and in the past have had good experiences. Before I would always recommend this venue to friends and family. Yesterday we had family down, so decided to take them to Mud Dock for a meal and a few drinks. We noticed that none of the tables were big enough for our group, so proceeded to move 2 tables closer together. Immediately a blonde Polish waitress appeared and started shouting at us, telling us to Move the tables back ‘Now!’, and never ‘ever’ move tables closer together! I was pretty gob smacked, and almost couldn’t believe she was being serious, as I’ve not been spoken to in such a manor for many years. In-fact the last time I was spoken to like this was when I was given detention at school. We explained that the tables were out of the way, and that our group wanted to sit together. She just reiterated what she said shouting at us as if we had just done something illegal. Needless to say we all left with a very sour taste in our mouths, and are very unlikely to return again. Mud Dock’s customer service has obviously drastically gone down hill in recent months. Thanks to her attitude she lost Mud Dock our custom and I advice everyone to give this venue a miss until they train staff the fine art of customer service.

Good food. One of the best places to sit and drink/eat informally in Bristol when the sun is shining. Very good food, good beers and a nice view over the river. Sometimes inattentive and slow service, but worth it for the food. I’ve been several times and would go back again.

We came here for a few beers and lunch with some friends. I found the staff inattentive and the result was the wrong order turning up following a long wait at the bar, despite there being very few customers about. When we questioned the order with the manager, he couldn’t really have cared any less. A disappointing waste of my hard earned cash.

Hmm Mud Dock. I have a mixed emotions about this place. Why? I’m just not sure about those bikes that hang from the walls. Isn’t that a bit too much? Bike shop/café restaurant? But I guess it is unique in its own way-it’s eye-catching and rather unusual. What is more important it doesn’t detract from enjoying the tasty food, which is globally influenced. Everything is cook to order using local produce and served by a friendly staff. There’s also a pretty nice view from the terrace over the slightly sludgy Bristol waterfront. All in all it is very welcoming place to visit.
