McColls closed in 2013 after a fire. The unit has been rebuilt but as of April 2017 it has not been let to any retail outlet.

This is a great asset which is in a superb location right near a small industrial area and close to residential housing. There is a car park outside but actually many of the customers walk there. It is a decent size and has a very good range of papers and magazines for you to choose from. My son is never disappointed by the choice and always persuades me to buy something! It is so much more than a newsagents though, it has a very good selection of food. Not enough to do your monthly shop but you could certainly top up for the week or just call in for tea. Tinned goods, breads, cereals, all the basics such as milk and butter but also a small selection of pre-wrapped fruit and vegetables and a couple of freezers, so you certainly aren’t spoilt for choice. They have a large range of confectionary, a good choice of wines and spirits and stationary items and cards. The prices are fairly reasonable as well, and the staff are friendly.
