One of the pubs closest to my house, and easily the best! Firstly atmosphere is perfect for a local pub /informal restaurant. Extremely relaxed, friendly and accommodating staff with a separated spacious dining area and bar area. The recently opened beer garden is extremely spacious, a sun trap until evening with plenty for seating. Also quiz on Tuesday night is great fun. Breakfast: Had the breakfast twice with friends. Eggs royale was delicious, and the extra large traditional breakfast is huge. All very reasonable. Food: Burgers are excellent. Juicy with great chips. Can also recommend the fish and chips! The old spot sundae is incredible. One big negative is that there is no Sunday roast! Beer: Some good ales to choose from, and usually two local guest ales on tap. My one criticism is the selection could be larger, especially when it comes to cider and ale. Perhaps some more bottled ales/cider? Overall ++ food ++ atmosphere — range of ales and cider — no Sunday roast
