I usually visit this one of three curry houses in Westbury on trym. Slightly more expensive than the others but you can see why from the minute you walk through the door. The staff are very welcoming. Definately an above average curry house.

Wen there on a busy firday night we had to wait for an hour and half before we got our starters by which time I was ready for my bed. When the food did arrive it was very tasty would go there again but not on the weekend

Very, very poor. Nice looking retaurant, nice enough staff. BUT the food was about as exciting as watching paint dry. I have wonderd for many years what it was like and MYTASTEBUDSWHEREBORED and I was unhappy as a result(cus it was my birthday treat). Even my YOUNG kids said that it never realy tasted of much. It costed £170, for 6 adults(only 3 real eaters) and 4 kids(who shared some starters) to eat and have only a few drinks(6 pints and a FEW soft drinks). And we had to pay a service charge(only cus it was on the menu and I never noticed first) ANDDONOTASKFOR A PRAWNSALADITLOOKEDLIKEITWASMADEWITHPVA or SILICONE. I wish I had more time to wait and stayed with the MUMTAZ just along the road. Its always good in there and about half the price. EXPENSIVE. VERYOVERPRICED. TRY MacDONALDS FORMOREFLAVOUR. As you can guess Im not a happy bunny!!!

This has a reputation of being an up market curry house, and the general perception of most people is that this is where you go for something a little bit special. The ambience may be more refined than your typical Indian(nic décor etc.) but I’ve always found the food to be less than exciting. It’s certainly no better than any of the other local restaurants which are considerably cheaper. The Take Away side of things always does a roaring trade, but i will never understand why. Better food can be bought off the deli counter at Asda for a thrid of the price! Try Bengal Raj in Stoke Bishop instead — fantastic onion bhaji’s!
