Me & my friends always seem to end up here on a night out. It’s free entry, cheap drinks & it’s great for a dance. They have about 5 small tables around the bar area and when it’s busy you’re lucky if any of them are free but they do have a seating area up stairs near the dance floor. Their toilets are situated up a pretty steep flight of stairs which can pose as a slight issue when you’re wearing 6 inch heels. This place definitely isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but if you want cheap drinks and a dance then I would give it a go.

Love this place! Cheap drinks! Brilliant music! I bought 3 drinks for only £5 in there the other night, can not beat it anywhere! This consisted of a jagerbomb, vodka and redbull and a lemonade. Music is always so up to date and recent along with the traditional classics from a few years ago! Great atmosphere, always have a night to remember in here!

As goes by it’s Greek meaning, Agora is really the meeting spot of people over some cheap drinks, and yes, FREE Entry!!! It is like, either you like it, or hate it, there is no middle way. The club is not disabled friendly as the way to the washroom involves quite a lot of stairs and there are stairs inside as well. Problem, since the entry is free, it is infested with thieves. Once my partner got nicked, we reported to the Security and they didn’t do anything. I personally had to run behind the guy but by that time, he had already bypassed the stuff! Luckily, he dropped the cards on the floor, which we managed to find out, on his way out, as we realised who did the crime and I started persuading him. But, again the Security did, nothing! It seemed like, your problem, you better solve it, yourself! Oh yes, another one. DONOT leave your jackets, jumpers or coats on the dance floor or the sofas upstairs. To your much surprise, you will fail to find them back on your way back home. Seeking Security help is useless, they don’t do anything. I lost my official John Players Biker Jacket, in the same manner and never saw it again! I left it on the racks on the dance floor and someone took it! So if you are wearing some extra covers, please make use of the cloakroom. The entry is free anyway, so the £1 charge for the cloakroom will not essentially burn a hole in thy pocket. The music is pretty O.K. I mean, except those Spanish nights, where the DJ plays only Spanish music, so it becomes a bit boring for other revellers. They do drink offers. £2 for a mixer. If you are getting in, don’t forget to grab a drink voucher from the staff member standing just outside the entrance on the Park Street pavement. The washroom is clean and tidy. The guy responsible definitely does a good job. The dance floor is, sticky, sometimes. But, the staff do clean the floor occasionally between the night, while you are lost in the music. The music has no special genres. It’s just popular music, featuring dance anthems from Sean Paul, Pitbull, Shakira and the likes. Agora, is pretty alright for an economic night. Recommended? Yes, if you are aware enough to take care of your belongings!

One of Park Street’s many sleazy late night bars, Agora is the kind of place that should never be entered sober. If so, you may just notice how dripping in stale sweat the blandly modern décor is. And that might just be wholly unappealing. Cheap and I suppose cheerful in its own inimitable way, Agora blasts out Eurotrash party tunes until the early hours. There are a lot of drinks deals on most nights so it’s worth keeping an eye open for them(the last thing you want to do is pay for the pleasure of being here). On the plus side, well… the dancefloor is relatively spacious. And it stays open late with no entrance fee. And, er, that’s about it really.

This is a fairly trendy bar with a dance floor, and most nights if you get in there before 11pm you can get buy one get one free on cocktails which is worth it for the price! The bar is pretty modern looking, and the dance floor takes up most of the club. There isn’t much seating area however, which can be a tad annoying if your heels are hurting. I don’t really rave about this place anymore, the first time I visited I thought it was pretty cool, but ever since it doesn’t seem to get that busy — and there are always a few sleezy guys at the bar who watch all the girls — I find this kind of creepy!

Odd one this place. If Lounge and Embargo’s had a child, and that child stunted its growth from drinking too many cheap drinks, then this would be the result. Agora! it sounds like a very up market restaurant that Becks would take Posh to. Or the type of place Freddie Flintoff would stumble out of when he was still playing cricket(gave up booze with test cricket, didn’t he?!). Well its not. Its turns out it is the type of place drunk students stumble out of. Good to kick off a loud night if your pinching your Penny’s, otherwise I’d leave out mate.

— As a member of the university’s Ancient History society, I had no choice but to love this place, as all our socials were here. It wasn’t too much of a hardship though because I always had a good time. Pumping out the very best of chart tunes can never go wrong with the student and local crowd, which can be seen as Agora is jam-packed nearly every night. With a name like Agora you would expect a Greek style décor but this bar is pretty plain — just your usual bar and dancefloor with cheap drink deals. Nevertheless, this is a great place to start or end the night!

The tree is now gone, allowing for a dance floor in its place. It’s still a pretty small bar, but cosy. Some of the furniture is a little tired, but I guess this bar is popular with students, so they probably don’t want to replace things too often. The staff seem efficient, and the management were very helpful to us running our social event. Drinks prices during the week a quite reasonable. Toilets are ok. But no soap in the ladies’ when I went. I had to pop into the gents’ to get some! To be honest it’s not the kind of place I would go on a weekend out of choice, however it was perfect for our mid-week social.

Agora is a bit of a hit or miss with most people. Either you love it or hate it, like it or loathe it. At the end of the day, Agora is the cheapest place for a drink on Park Street so expect to see students midweek and chav’s on the weekends. They do some good deals before 11pm such as £2 for a glass of wine or a pint of beer. Inside it’s surprisingly quite large. There is a dance floor(with a pole) next to the bar with enough room to get your groove on. There’s also an area upstairs with some sofas if you are more of a chilling type of person. Music wise, expect to hear a lot of Rhianna and Beyonce

Family owned, go to this Park Street Greek bar for a dose of cheesy dancing fun. It’s hard to miss on a night out, there are always revellers spilling out on to the street and annoying the bouncers. The owners seem to have gone through a check list of things to make a successful raucous party bar. This means attractive female bar staff, pounding music, and cheap drinks deals. They’ve pretty much succeeded in doing this too. Unsurprisingly this means it is not most relaxing of evening. It’s not very comfortable either, you’ll get sweaty and if you’re over six feet you’ll have to stoop a bit in parts. Go here after few drinks, when you won’t mind such things. Agora is sweaty, fun, and loud.

One of the few bars on Park Street where you’d actually find plant life in the middle of the dance floor is it an actual tree? Drinks are reasonably priced and this place can have quite a good atmosphere if it fills up. Definitely a stop for just the one drink though!
