Truly awful food. The location is lovely, near the top of the cliffs and staff are friendly. Food however is really very bad. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and what came out was 2 slices of bread with a small brown splodge in the middle. It definitely wasn’t fresh and looked reheated to be honest. We sat near the kitchen and the other food coming out really looked no better. The food isn’t even that cheap. Avoid unless you like fowl food.

Brilliant bar, lacklustre food. Went for Mothers Day where they were undoubtedly very busy but the steak we all ordered was fatty and awful and we waited over an hour for it. Bar staff always friendly and chatty although same can’t be said for supposed manager who spent most of her time audibly shouting at kitchen staff and generally being unwelcoming and thoroughly faux throughout the lunch service. New paint job and rebranding also a mess — whoever heard of a ‘grey’ White Horse? I’d recommend avoiding as there are plenty of better pubs locally with much better food/ambiance and friendlier front of house.

I can’t see much to fault here. It’s not that this place is the best hotel and bar in the country, it’s more that you can come here and enjoy a lunch or a few drinks with all the glamour of an Agatha Christie novel without the bill stinging you at the end. It’s as classic as a British Hotel and Restaurant can be. It’s popular for Sunday lunch with a vast choice of mains between £7−9 but this is also a good spot for lunch or dinner any day of the week with jacket potatoes and sandwiches starting at just £4 and mains for two people for £10. If you happen to be in the area and you need a refill, it’s great value and a fun experience.

What a beautiful place this is. The White Horse Hotel is located in Rottingdean. It’s structured on top of the cliffs, granting you a very spectacular view of the sea. I was mesmerized. I, unfortunately, didn’t have a good look at the rooms(I was here for a conference), but if the quality of the conference rooms matches the quality of the hotel rooms, I must say, those must be some wonderfully terrific(and clean) hotel rooms. Equally ravishing is the hotel and bar. There is an outdoor patio that grants you a perfect view of the sea. They offer a good selection of starters and main courses(£4 average for a starter, and £10 average for a main). They also have a very good selection of wines to choose from. Its desirable location, along with its gorgeous interior and quality restaurant make this a great place to spend some time.
