A sweet and bright little convenience store, or should that be mini market? Well I’m not really sure on what the technicalities of the terms mean, but either way, this is a handy little place that stocks more than your traditional corner shop would be expected to, offering a range of herbs and spices from the East. I wouldn’t exactly say its worth going out of your way to get here(sadly), but its undeniably worth having a poke around if you happen to be in the area. And the lady who works here is indeed smiley and friendly, which is a big plus!

Preston Mini Market, has a lovely yellow sign with fun, joker type red font on its front and I like it. The shop itself sells standard alchoholic drinks, for a fairly reasonable price as well as other cornershop classics, such as sandwiches and chocolate bars. Though what is a little more interesting about Preston Park Mini Market, is its interesting range of chinese food stuffs. I’m sure that most mini markets aren’t likely to sell seasoned crispy shrimp and seasoned crispy squid in a can for £1.59, or a host of chinese soups and condiments such as oyster sauce or canned lychees(£1.15). I love lychees! There’s also some specialist Middle Eastern foods here, one particularly that caught my eye was a little bag of something called Wild Knoflook, from Iran, which looks like something that you’d maybe put in a magical potion. Lots of interesting and obscure things here to buy if your into chinese and middle eastern cooking, although the choice is quite random. Also toilet roll, frozen pizzas and all most of your mini mart needs will be required here. The lady behind the counter even made eye contact with me and warmly smiled after I had walked out having not bought anything. Not that I recommend you do that yourselves, I was reviewing!
