I was looking for a gift in there, the lady and gentleman in the shop recommended me a lot of products patiently, they are really nice people. And the packaging of chocolate looks very luxury and good to be sent as a present. The quality as well, as a result, my teacher loves it very much. Furthermore, I really like the atmosphere of the inside of this shop, and can’t help myself to took some pictures in there. Anyway, thanks to the lady and the man in the shop for allowing me to take photos, if anyone says any photo is inappropriate to use, please contact me, I’ll delete it as soon as possible.

While in London, my husband and I decided to go take the train somewhere to get out of the crowds. We maybe should have researched a bit better, because our somewhat random train station choice led us to Brighton, which on a sunny Saturday was even more crowded than London had been. On the bright side, I can say I’ve seen the English Channel, and I got to eat some really good chocolate. We got a variety of small boxes of truffles while we were here, and every single one was delicious– my favorite was the port wine one. They’re on the expensive side, but also very high quality. Service was good, and they took our credit card without batting an eye. Obviously, I am not a Brighton expert, but I still recommend this chocolate.

Though not as good as the nearby located Montezuma chocolate shop, the chocolate here is still very nice. Samples were offered by the knowledgeable and helpful staff, and the variety of flavours on offer is mind boggling. There are some good deals available too. All in all, a chocolate lover’s heaven!

Hotel Chocolat in the heart of the Lanes in Brighton is pure choccy heaven, and not without competition round here. Recently, we had a great Hen Do event at Hotel Chocolat and I think they are very popular with that. They certainly kept us entertained! Better than that, it’s close to where I work. So I pop by often for a treat. The pralines are heavenly.

As a woman who doesn’t like chocolate(yes, it’s possible), I love this place! They always had free samples whenever I came in, and the chocolate really is phenomenal. You can buy chocolate from every country and cocoa bean imaginable, and the designs range from unique to mind-blowing. The prices reflect the products’ rarity and style, but you get what you pay for — and then some. I sent Hotel Chocolat goodies to family and friends in the States and throughout Europe, and they were head over heels.

When you want to give someone chocolate, and think that a bag full of Kinder Bueno isn’t classy enough, then head on down to Hotel Chocolat. There you’ll find luxurious boxed chocolate that puts your Snickers bar to shame. As this is a luxurious brand, expect to pay a lot. I was eyeing this 24 piece chocolate set that cost £25.00… that’s £1.00 per chocolate, and an extra £1.00 for the box. My boss got a box of truffles from Hotel Chocolat as a gift, and the two truffles I had were quite tremendous. But whenever I eat chocolate, I break out into hives, so the experience afterward was not so tremendous.

Sleek is definitely the word that springs to mind when you walk in to this shop. Sleekness in shop design tends to both impress me and worry me a little– have they put more attention into kitting the shop out than the goodies? I put it to a test– I was very happy to take a sample from the smiling shop assistant, a whisky and dark chocolate nugget. Then I wandered a few doors down and graciously took a sample from Montezuma’s. I sat on the bench between the two and tried to figure out if one should judge a book by its cover. The winner was definitely Hotel Chocolat– so it would appear that the slick interior rests on a solid foundation of delicious, luxurious chocolate with a wonderful texture. The stylishness of the brand also stretches to the design of their chocolate– I had to reach out and stroke the engraved heart shaped chocolate lollipops– a decadence for £5(and it’s one of the cheapest items in the shop) but they are really very beautiful. Where £4.50 seems steep for a 100g bar, the £18 for the larger box of mixed chocolates seems quite decent. I have learned that it’s better to wait and buy the best rather than buy more for less and enjoy it much less.

Before you get too excited, Hotel Chocolat is not a place you can check in for a couple of nights and get pampered by staff feeding you individual chocolate truffles made from the finest cacao. I’m sure that place exists somewhere but alas, its not here! Hotel Chocolat is actually a chocolate company aimed at the luxury market. Their packaging is slick and simple and their shops are packed with gift boxes, hampers and slabs of chocolate aimed at obvious markets like For Him, For Her, For Them. I’m not a fan of their milk or white chocolate — I much prefer Monteuzumas and Valhorona — but I do like their dark chocolate and particularly, their Single Estate bars from Venezuela, St. Lucia, Madagascar and Sao Tome.

Hotel Chocolat is a sleek store located in Brighton’s ‘chocolate avenue’. Despire being surrounded by a veritable swarm of competitors, this place manages to stand out as a consequence of some very enticing interior and exterior design, and a ton of enticing chocolate based items. The products are very, very nice looking — bordering on mouthwatering -, but perhaps marginally more expensive than some of their competitors ranges. Still, judging by the free sample the friendly store manager insisted I try, it is worth every penny. As well as sweets, you’ll find Proseco — strangely! -, and chocolate recipe books.
