Golden Fry

If you’re craving fish and chips but unfortunately don’t live anywhere near a chippy, Golden Fry is here to save the day, as they not only deliver (minimum only £8) but the food is actually tasty and well made.
This was the first time I’ve ordered delivery from a fish and chip shop, and I was pleasantly surprised — the food arrived quickly and *hot*, and was wonderfully inexpensive. The batter on the fish was still fresh, not gloopy at all, and thankfully wasn’t the usual hard, crusty browny-​orange I’ve seen in just about every other shop here. My cod was just ‘meh’ but my husband’s huss was buttery soft and shockingly good. Definitely try the huss when ordering!
The chips were standard chip shop fare, but at least they were still hot, which is more than I can say for Grubbs, which doesn’t even have the excuse of delivery times to make up for their cold, sad soggy potatoes. :/​
Golden Fry also has pizzas, burgers, and deep fried mars bars on the menu, so it’s not just for fish and chips. If you receive one of their flyers in the postbox like we did, stick it on your fridge and keep it in mind for a lazy day. :)
