Emporium is a brilliant café bar(and theatre) on London Road, which until not that long ago was bereft of any decent places to have a good cup of tea. Being a church conversion, the place has a grand atmosphere to it, though while being spacious with(very) high ceiling it still manages to be cosy, with some quality mood lighting. It also features a few, but not overplayed, quirky touches including mismatched furniture, giant wooden eagles and palm trees. The food choice appears functional rather than sensational, but regardless it’s a great place to grab a sofa and spend a couple of hours.
