Went here for a work Christmas Party — it got booked because it was cheap, now I know why! I went to Como Brasserie for a work Christmas Party, about 25 of us that we were told would easily be catered for. I think we paid £20 a head which included a 3 course meal and half a bottle of wine each. Sounds good, right? We were shoved in to a room upstairs where it was a tight squeeze… not too much of an issue at this point. So the Wine came and was shared out between us — it was disgusting, tasted like I was drinking vinegar. There were other people around us eating food waiters taking food out to them, and what was on their plates looked very appetizing so we were all looking forward to the main course. My main course of lamb shank with vegetables came out. it was a small piece of lamb on the bone, with one small stuffing ball, two very small new potatoes and a baby carrot on the side. I thought that was fine because I assumed bowls of sprouts/parsnips/trimmings would come out afterwards and everyone could take them as they pleased… only nothing came out! that WAS the christmas meal! Needless to say there wasn’t enough to fill up a 5 year old. Very disappointing. I’m not sure whether they were skimping on the food because it was a Christmas party or what, because regular diners seemed to have generous plates of food… Anyway, I wouldn’t go there again

Gorgeous food, wonderful service, and a beer list for days! We stopped in here a bit past 6 on a Saturday evening, hoping for a quick-ish dinner. Having recently gotten a Gourmet Society card, Como was on the list and we were happy to give it a go. As we ordered, we mentioned the card and the lovely waiter told us it was normally only allowed for pre-booked tables, but that he’d be happy to honor it(I think he was a manager??). So we got a great discount on our food, which was really good of them as they obviously didn’t have to let us have the deal. They have a huge beer menu, and it includes a good amount of fruity lambics — my personal fave. So I enjoyed a peachy Lindemann’s as I waited for my mussels. The mussels were delicious and my husband enjoyed his steak with mushroom sauce just as much. Rich and beautiful food all around. My only complaints were that service, while very good, was a bit slow and the tables could use a good scouring as they were rather sticky. Overall, Como Brasserie is a great little spot and I’d recommend it heartily!

The beer list is amazing esp the Belgians but the food wasn’t anything too special. Also they’re house-brewed beer wasn’t available because it was stuck in France. But we’re in England… Why is it in France? Maybe they have a sister restaurant there or in Belgium? Anyway. Would go back for a drink but that’s it.

I am really giving this four stars because I tried my husband’s full English breakfast and it was really nice. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant, and it was mostly a bit weird. The ham was good, the cheese was good, the croissant was good– but the croissant was sweet, with coarse, granular sugar on it. It messed with my taste buds too much, and I just couldn’t decide if it was too avant-garde for my Luddite tastes, or a mistake. It wasn’t bad, just weird. My husband’s full English was great. Nice quality ingredients, good portions, and well cooked. We both had coffees, and their coffee is very nice. The prices are very reasonable, and the service was good.
