City College Refectory

The cafeteria at Brighton and Hove City College is quite spacious, with long, rectangular tables set up to maximise space. It reminds me of my high school caf, but less angsty. I’ve started a new job at the College, and so popped in for a tea before heading home last week.
Other drinks available include both regular and herbal tea (Suki brand), coffees, cold juices and sodas. There are several savoury snack and sweet options as well.
The cafeteria has to compete with all the nearby restaurants in the North Laines, and so offers quite a few delicious sounding options each day for ridiculously low prices. Yesterday was a curry feast, and today they have a full Mexican menu (meat or veggie chilli tacos, chicken or vegetable fajitas, refried beans, onion rings, wedges, sour cream and home made salsa) for £3. 50. Soups of the day are also really inexpensive — £1 or £1.40, depending on size.
I probably won’t come for lunch every day (as the North Laines cafes are about a 5 minute walk away) but for rainy/​snowy days, it’ll be nice to know there’s cheap, hot food sharing the same roof.
