When I first saw this place, all I could see was steam… I genuinely thought I was walking by a street sauna or something. But casting my eyes up, I saw it was a Chinese takeaway, so I picked up a menu in case I ever felt the need for one. Other than its exceptional levels of steam(even the TV has a dense haze over it) China Kitchen has one problem. Its location. Its such a pain to get here however you go at it, whether you try and find space to park further up Lewes road and walk to it, or stroll past the less steamy take outs on your way to it, or try and get a meal home by bus before it gets cold. And sadly, there’s no free delivery, instead charging £2 within a 2 mile radius. Personally, I don’t mind the walk to pick up my food. And it always gets home hot, but sadly, I feel that China Kitchen lays all but undiscovered, behind its veil of condensation. I also don’t feel inclined to give it more stars, as while the food is good and the prices standard, and the service friendly, it just doesn’t do enough to make the journey/extra cost worthwhile… I don’t get take out very often, but i see myself oscillating between here and Oriental Chinese Takeaway whenever I do…
