Kate & Aud is a lovely two level shop with, as the sign outside advertises, «Vintage treasures upstairs.» It did feel a bit like a treasure chest, with antique jewellery around everywhere. There’s a case full of brooches, and several others of necklaces, bracelets and rings. Lovely scarves are available in both new and vintage varieties; and some leather-​bound journals are displayed in baskets.
Upstairs, most of the clothing is lacey and glittery — not really my style. There’s also a rack of real fur (I’m pretty sure) and leather coats.
However, one section includes handmade items created with vintage pieces. These are really great — dresses with a slightly patchwork feel for around£ 45.
The staff members are really friendly, and I’d recommend this shop if you like exploring for unique, feminine looks.
