Thank goodness for Yummy Cottage. The shining light in the dark tunnel that is Bevendean! Don’t get me wrong — I love Bevendean, but we ain’t spoilt for choice when it comes to shopping, and eating! So — I’m very happy to say that the local Chinese is as good as any I’ve had in the city. The menu is extensive and varied — does your local offer sausage chow mein? There are also various lunch and dinner options, as well as special offers depending on how much you spend. I’ve used this place as somewhere to get a snack on the way home, to catering for a party and, each time, the food has been delish, plentiful and on time. And you can’t ask for more than that!

Yummy Cottage speaks for itself and I could just leave it there but I will go on. The menu is bigger than any I have seen for a long time and is more like a book than a menu. This makes it very difficult to choose as there is so much to choose from… They literally cover everything in the Chinese section have plenty to choose from in the Thai section and still offer options from Singapore and Western delicacies such as the omelette. You might as well throw out all your others and replace it for this one. However, bits of my order were average whilst others were done well so maybe they are just throwing in stuff that they can’t do that well to make the menu look bigger. Still when you have more than 10 people over this menu is more likely to satisfy all then most others. Free delivery over £12 which is guaranteed if your eating with 2 people and prawn crackers which no one wants to start with but are always happy to munch later for free.
