Not an expert at all on curry — however, I had a chance to give Akbar’s a try and I’ll say it was pretty good. Fairly big place and crowded for a Wednesday night. Had the chance to try the lamb chops starter and the«Meat Feast» curry — both were very good. Service was solid — the food came out in a reasonable time and beers kept coming to the table very regularly. All in all — if you find yourself in the Bradford area definitely worth the visit.

Good food poor service I would not recommend to anyone the food had to be sent back because it came out cold. We Also got starters meant from the table behind us in the mix up.

Loved Akbars, the guys are super friendly, the food is awesome and for those who like a drink they do alcohol too :-) always good to go out in a group of friends. There’s a car park on the opposite side would definitely go there again recommended for those who love there spicy foods :-)

This place is so good and I’m sad that it is so far away(I’m back in California now). The quality of the food is worth 5 stars and they are generous with their portions, I even had some leftovers to ravage the next day. One naan(the smaller one) was enough for me and my partner to share and coupled with an order of rice and a curry each, we were completely stuffed with a little leftover for the next day. For our appetiser we had a Seekh Kebab(my favourite starter) and it was still smoking hot when it was served on our table. I think Akbar’s probably has one of the best Seekh kebabs I’ve tried during my time in England. For mains, I ordered the Tikka Masala and my partner had the Chicken Karahi and they were both spicy(his a little more than mine) but sooo good. You can just taste the freshness of the ingredients and the flavours are so vibrant and delicious. I need to stop writing this before I start salivating! It isn’t that cheap, probably around £8−9 for a main, but on special occasions it is nice to come in for a great meal to treat ourselves. Service was fine and our food was served not too long after we ordered. I’ll be back next time I’m in Bradford.

Akbars is brilliant, whether you try the one on Leeds Road at Bradford or their Café just 1 mile further towards Bradford or Eastgate in Leeds(this one being less noisy than Greek Street) we have been there dozens of times and never had either a poor meal or bad service. The food is top quality, and so are the staff and the portions are generous. I know its a very busy chain of restraunts but we do eat early so it’s never a problem and we have had several special birthdays at both Leeds Road and the Café on a Saturday afternoon where we have been looked after really well — keep up the good work guy’s your doing a brilliant job!

We often used to go to Akbar’s in Bradford. However it’s gone down hill. It’s too crowded and you don’t want customers hovering over you whilst you’re trying to eat. You have to shout to others across the table to be heard. The tables are far too close together and it’s too noisy. A couple of waitors were unproffesional and rude when one of us asked if the dessert was suitable for vegertarians. The food was cheap, nice, a little too hot but tasty. The lamb chops are the best and i’d happily eat loads of them.

Very busy when I went with 7 others and for good reason. The staff are very friendly and attentive without being over the top. Food is good and quite cheap. Appears to be popular for Birthdays. Worth going if in the area and would like a cheap, good Indian meal.

This place is my favourite restaurant ever. As a family we love to eat here, the great food and excellent service keeps bringing us back! It may only be a small thing to most but the naan breads here are to die for, even when im totally stuffed having just about finished my meal(and the portions are more than enough) i still find it impossible to resist ordering a naan to take home. My only slight issue with the place is with the car park, which is across the road from the restaurant, as it’s not really big enough and to be honest there are just so many holes/bumps it can be quite awkward to negotiate around. Other than that though I love this place.

I regularly return to Akbar’s Restaurant, Bradford, a thriving busy place and am pleased by the mix of people that is in their customer base. You are quickly served once you are at the table and your food is brought to your table by a chef. I find the atmosphere engaging and you can bring your whole family. On special occasions they give you a cake as well as a song. I have eaten at may restaurants but Akbars has that special something that makes me return again and again.

I found this resturant to be very good value. In particular the kebabs and the masala fish was very good. The staff were very polite. Also it was close to bradford temple(just opposite) where you could park your car. A very enjoyable experience.

Delicious indian food — very tasty nosh in a good bustling atmosphere. This restaurant is always busy at weekends, you are best to book ahead and make sure you can get a table. There are sitting times but they vary. Staff are all friendly and happy, and know the menu very well. I recommend the fish karahi and a huge family naan, which comes to the table speared on a metal tree. My husband always has the chicken jalfrezi which he enjoys. Nice new modern décor and lovely swish toilets, which are upstairs.

This gets really busy but it is an excellent indian restaurant and well worth the wait for the table There is a bar where you can wait but it is hard to get seated so you do end up waiting for a drink while you are waiting for your meal. The food is gorgeous with all the usual indian foods from balti curry to chicken madras, etc. They have offers where if you can eat the hottest house curry you can have the rest of your food free but im not one for too hot so wouldnt waste my money trying. They also do huge naan bread with the challenge if you can eat a full one you get your curry free — this is on the biggest size they make and i dont think ive seen anyone finish one yet — they are meant to be shared with the full table. The prices are ok — a bit on the dear side but they are an award winning restaurant so i suppose that is why. The beers are lovely and they sell all the traditionals or you can opt for their homemade ale which i havent tried as its made with lots of spices and i dont like the sound of it.

Really nice restaurant. The food is delicious and can be made to your own taste. Does get very busy though, especially at weekend, but that doesnt affect the great service you will receive. Clean, lovely place, i would eat here every night if i could afford it!

Great reputation. Classy Indian restaurant with good selection on menu. Naan breads the size of half a house are famous here. Good size bar area. Generally very busy so need to book

A very busy indian restaurant. Most of the time you cannot move in the bar area whilst you are waiting for your table. The food is nice and the waiters are friendly. But due to the sheer volume of people coming through the doors, the customer service is a bit rushed. It is a licensed restaurant and there is parking over the road which you are directed to.

This Indian restaurant is a victim of it’s own success in some ways. It is always heaving with people and there is a queue waiting for the tables to clear. The food is excellent with the biggest naan breads I have ever seen, you could sleep under the family sized ones! Although there is a car park across the road that is shared with the pub, there always seems to be hustle and bustle in parking there. They do have security staff though so that is a bonus. I can’t speak highly enough of the food and the staff are helpful and friendly. They also do a takeaway service and I have seen Jack Shepherd(bad boy David Platt from Corrie) getting his takeaway from here.
