New owners have just taken over this pub and all for the better. A typical English country club in a Binfield serving some love let food. A really nice atmosphere and classy place to grab so e lunch.

Went to Uni next door for a semester, and after a long week of obnxious classes this was definitely the place to unwind with friendly locals. I loved their variety of beers and liquors, but even more was the friendliness that everyone always had. I made lots of fond memories there: falling in love with Stella Artois, playing with some Irish setters they allowed inside, feeding them chips and chatting it up with the owners. Really a charming place that I can’t wait to go back to when I go back to England.

This pub is awesome and the landlord and his employees are extremely nice, cheeky, and fun people to talk to. I used to attend the college located next door, and once I overheard one of the employees at the Roebuck complain that the American students were loud and obnoxious. I told him that i was very sorry that my obnoxious countrymen showed no respect, and I assured him that not all of us are like that. After much chat, and my promise that I would address the students in assembly(I was the editor of the campus paper) he poured me a pint on the house. The people at this pub are lovely, the food is good, and the beer, stouts, ales, etc are great! I miss the Roebuck. When I return to the UK I will hit it up for sure.

If you’re American, DUCK once you step inside. The ceiling is lower than you’d expect. If you’re Seventh Day Adventist, you know you shouldn’t be here for alcohol, but duck anyway.
