I have had 2 recent visits, once for Sunday Lunch at the end of August and on the 29th Septembers for my Daughters birthday. The Sunday lunch turned up without cutlery, which the waiter said he would return with straight away. 15 minutes later we managed to find another waitress who apologised and offered to reheat our now cold food. This was microwaved and returned which tasted horrible and was smothered in a strong spiced gravy which my 9 year old daughter disliked. After complaining all we got was apologise from the waitress. As you prepay for your food here it seems acceptable to deliver poor service. My visit on the 29th September we went at 5pm on a Saturday evening to avoid the rush and hopefully get a reasonable service. The Pub only had a few dinners seated. All started well with the starter arriving promptly, but thats all i can say was good. The Sharer platter fish cakes where so over cooked they shattered on the plate, the pâté tasted off and the ciabatta was so hard and dried out you couldnt bite it. After waiting for 1 hour for our mains course to arrive, our waiter had vanished and the fact other people had be seated served and left after we had arrived. we then asked another waiter to seek out our order. Eventually she returned to say it would be 2 minutes. It arrived 20 minutes later by which time i was so stressed i couldnt eat it. When asked was everything ok i complained only to be greeted with apologise and a smile. Dont bother with this place. They just dont give a damn.

I have had some very good meals here that seemed to be cooked on site rather than just heated up like the likes of Weatherspoon. Good English food with an interesting menu. Reasonable value too. It can take a while to get served and it can get busy. The ambience is good in a quaint fake thatched cottage.

What can i say Fab Roast Dinner a group of us went on a sunday afternoon and no need to book. It was busy but still not much of a wait and the service and food were lovely. Also very cheap really considering there were 8 of us for lunch it was surprising. Would definately recommend a visit.

Nice pub located in pleasant surroundings. Pub gets very busy on evenings especially Fri/Sat/Sun nights but if you turn up around 7.30pm you can usually get a table quite easily. Bar serves a large amount of drinks and the barmen/women are very friendly and helpful. Food is ordered at the bar, and they give you a wooden spoon with the table number on to take back and place in the glass on your table. If the waiter doesnt see the number you dont get your food very quickly as happened to us, however they did give us some free drinks as it was pretty cold. Great for families, dog walkers as they have an outside area. Nice pub

Nice pub, good pub food. Parking limited, gets very busy in the evenings. Good size restaurant — small garden.

The food was okay but the atmosphere was pretty nice with lots of outdoor seating. It was a nice place to go after Coral Reef, the water park nearby. I would suggest it for a solid lunch after a day playing in the water. The food wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great either. It was just food :-)
