A good peaceful, bar/restaurant where you can get a good beverage with no complaints. The people are fair and the bartenders are fair. It’s also a good place to eat, with a wide selection of ranges of different foods. Definitely recommended for visitors or tourists that are only there for a short while.

Just your average Wetherspoons — A bit souless but decent selection of well kept ales & lager. Usually used as a meeting point for groups going on elsewhere.

This pub is named after the invention which revolutionised the cotton industry. The spinning mule’ was the brainchild of Samuel Crompton, who was born on the outskirts of Bolton in 1753. However, he received just £50 for his invention. Since 1862, Nelson Square has been fronted by a statue of Samuel Crompton. First time here, went with friend. Nice inside, very much like the last Wetherspoons I went in. Went in for a midday snack. Wasnt impressed we had to stand waiting at the bar to get an order in for the food. Chorley has a food order area. At the table it wasnt cleaned down and grubby. I had a bowl of Tomato and Basil soup that really was half a bowl. Bloomer bread and butter. Was given a knapkin which wrapped a soup spoon and a large dinner folk to spread my butter on the bread. My friend had Smoked Haddock fish cakes that were too brown and crunchy, chips that looked like washerwomens fingers and a side salad that was limp and need a good dip in water. I could just see Gordon Ramsey forking it about, then coming out with a few choice words. Would I say it’s a place with a Kitchen Nightmare,(yip too true) How do I know? I was an head chef over 35 years. Would I serve that up? Not this side of hell. Broadcasts Live News Cask Marque Accredited Children Welcome In Good Beer Guide TV Screens Wifi

Like most Wetherspoons they have a rather generic look and feel to their interior and the Bolton branch is no different, it is basically what you would expect from having visited any other Wetherspoons in the area. It’s quite centrally located between the heart of the shopping area and on the Bradshawgate run of pubs and bars so equally useful for a daytime pint or a pre-clubbing meet in the evening. For me, it’s simply a convenient family friendly place to nip into for lunch after shopping. Should you be there with the intent of dining and be accompanied by children there is a ‘dining area’ which you are expected to navigate towards. The area is to the very back of the venue and is accessible by steps. This is not ideal if you have a buggy or are mobility impaired although I did spy what looks to be a lift-like contraption. The staff are attentive and pleasant and they have a decent menu and a decent variety of drinks. The food is typical chain-pub-grub so if you’re wanting something special i’d go elsewhere though if like me you just want a bite to eat for lunch, the jobs a good ‘un at affordable prices too. All in all it’s an okay place, I don’t have any major faults with it yet likewise I can’t ‘rave’ about it. It’s somewhere i’ve been a few times and will definitely re-visit in the voucher.

This is the pub to use as a meeting point for a night out in Bolton. It is in Nelson Square, which is lined with bars and restaurants. Wetherspoons is a really big pub and gets really busy on a weekend. You know what you can expect with a Wetherspoons pub, which can be reassuring. The drinks are fairly cheap and they run allsorts of different deals. The food is good and cheap. I personally wouldn’t bring my children to eat at Wetherspoons because, more often than not, there are a few guys who spend the day in there and are a bit worse for wear! The toilets are upstairs and a bit of a trek but there are plenty of them! On the whole, a decent pub!

This is a nice spacey pub and there is a family section where you can have dinner with your kids without upsetting the regulars as some are put off by places that allow children. Always enjoy going out for lunch at whetherspoons, the food is nice and you dont have to wait long. There is quite abit of choice on the menu and is reasonable price. Staff are nice and the place always looks clean. Also nicely decorated.

Plenty of drink offers, good atmosphere and cheap prices make this one to visit when in town. The staff are friendly and polite and quite frequently the place is heaving on a weekend night. In addition it also does excellent food
